I am a bit confused! President Obama got elected with majority voters!
Why did he elect to go along with the Republicans when he knew they disliked him! I cannot wrap my mind around his behaviour to try and work with Republicans, they hate him. Even Dems vote with Repubs! Just asking!

5. The Majority that elected Obama were those that wanted to stop Hillary.
55% of Obama supporters were aghast at how far right Hillary was, 45% were aghast at how far left she was. It was a doomed coalition from the start. Eventually Obama had to make policies, and that's when his popularity nose dived, because he couldn't have it both ways. He boldy went after a Democratic holy grail, health care for all, and got creamed for it by the 45% of his supporters that hoped he was more conservative than he was, and switched sides. They were in it as a negative response to Bush, not a mandate for traditional leftist causes.

His greatest failure has been the loss of the newly anti-Bush tea party, self identified conservatives that were horrified by the authoritarian tactics and spending of the Bush administration, and abandoned the GOP, many of them voting for Obama and contributing largely to that 45%. He proved to be supportive of spending and failed to take strong stances against the authoritarian tactics of the Bush administration, forcing the tea party to move back and become a reform oriented faction of the GOP, who the general populous strongly identifies with as we contemplate anal humiliation at Abu Graib coupled with forced fondling for those who "opt-out" at TSA check points as the ongoing "norm" following 9/11/2001.

The system if broken, the crimes have been committed, and the people are angry. The refusal to "re-litigate the past" is seen as the cry of the weak apologist for a status quo that moves closer to tyranny daily, just as the jokes of Stewart and snarky comments of Maddow are seen as weak retribution for robbery of the American people, murder, and war crimes. Everybody needs to wake up to this simple fact: The Rubicon has been crossed, and its not about old fashioned partisan politics anymore!!!

6. yes, of course
but there is more. People on the whole are not always monolithic as to their voting habits, especially young college students. Many voted for Obama due to his GOTV efforts which in this past election cycle were absent. I'm not sure why, it could be that they were not motivated to vote because it was a mid-term or perhaps dems were concerned that they too would not vote our way due to the economy. It is hard to appreciate the pressure of a looming student loan re-payment in a slow economy with poor job prospects until you are getting letters from your college loan banker to begin making payments and you only have a minimum wage job.

I have mentioned before that I have friends and family in the tea party. I'm not sure that anti-bushism based on his ruling style is the main motivation for their involvement. I do think in any situation it is important to understand the opposition and I find that many here don't really understand the tp. OK, not my job to defend them but I will say this, they are, in a word highly motivated and very organized and we do ourselves no favors by underestimating or mis-characterizing them. Sure it is fun to mock them but at times we fail to appreciate the old adage "he who laughs last, laughs loudest". Many in the tp movement are older voters who have never been active in politics but have a lot of experience in organization and they have time on their hands to support their cause. They have studied that which has worked for us and adapted it to themselves.

Meanwhile, we are resting on the laurels of our past victories in a manor that the pukes did in the past, when they were the minority.

I do think napoleon you have a firm grasp on the situation with regard to the Clintons. The relationship between the President and Hillary is in interesting one for sure.

7. Uh, lots of us saw Hillary and Barack as virtual duplicates
And they were. Anyone who looked at the two of them and surmised that he was way to the left of her is just daft. Their policies were xeroxes of each other.

10. I so agree with you. Guess Americans did not want two families to
dominate, hence Obama got elected! Or people really believed in Obama and voted for him!

What am trying to say without getting banned is, I am disappointed in President Obama with some of his policies. He really did squander some of the political gains he got when he was elected. How could be assume that he could work with the GOP? That alone is mindboggling.

8. You described the Tea Party people very well, without calling them Teabaggers.
I salute you for showing respect to these people. I agree with your statement that Obama got in because he wasn't Bush and now those same people are voting Republican because they aren't Obama Democrats.
If Republicans screw the pooch like they did under Bush, Democrats have a chance to get these people back if they believe in being fiscally responsible.

I'm tired of the government stealing from my kids piggy banks.

I'm tired of the elite and corporations stealing from our children's piggy banks through our government and our politicians.
