Nancy Pelosi: 'We Don't Let Republicans Choose Our Leaders'-Gives Bush Tax Cut Compromise Big NO!
Edited on Fri Nov-12-10 02:03 PM by kpete
Speaker Nancy Pelosi: So I’m not looking back on this. They asked me to run, I’m running. We don’t let the Republicans choose our leaders and again, our members understand, they made me a target because I’m effective, politically and policy-wise.

.................................

Speaker Nancy Pelosi will not give ground on her opposition to extending the Bush tax cuts on the wealthiest Americans, even as the White House and other Democrats have signaled that it might be time to compromise.

"It's too costly. It's $700 billion," Pelosi told NPR this morning. "One year would be around $70 billion. That's a lot of money to give a tax cut at the high end. And I remind you that those tax cuts have been in effect for a very long time, they did not create jobs."

"And I remind you that those tax cuts have been in effect for a very long time, they did not create jobs."

Now why haven't we heard that EVERY DAY from the rest of our so-called leaders? I ask you.

4. finally somebody said it!! the republicans keeps saying we should
get rid of her. we don't choose their leaders, and they would not stand for it if we tried. They only oppose Pelosi because she is effective and they don't like that, so they are trying to make a stink and make them get rid of her, hoping the next guy will be more pliable to their will.

6. EXACTLY. And even some Dems are trying to say that her name has too much negativity
attached to it, from the constant attacks by the ReThugs. Do any of them REALLY think that they won't just "Pelosi" the next Dem leader of the House too? Seriously. She should keep the job because of how effective she was.

7. "those tax cuts...did not create jobs."
That's the bottom line. There is no justification for keeping the Bush plutocrat welfare program in place, and there is a lot to be gained from opposing the Republicans on this.

Trickle-down economics is bullshit, unless you are a wealth consultant or yacht salesman.

8. That should be a key point. 10 years of tax cuts did not create jobs.
If they did create jobs where were they created? Here or in another country?

9. Pay attention Barack Obama..
.. your people are warning you. We have been warning you for two years and you chose not to listen. The midterms were another warning. Nancy gets it, you still don't.

Give the farm away to the richfucks again at your own risk, Barack Obama. WE are watching every move you make and WE are in no mood to be ignored.

13. Its so fucking simple
"It's too costly. It's $700 billion," Pelosi told NPR this morning. "One year would be around $70 billion. That's a lot of money to give a tax cut at the high end. And I remind you that those tax cuts have been in effect for a very long time, they did not create jobs."

Every single democrat in the country needs to be screaming this as loudly as they can. The tax cuts did not fucking work, there is no valid reason to extend these tax cuts and every democrat needs to be making this case constantly. Pelosi cant do everything by herself.
