The Scar folks were in classic form this morning
It kind of went like this:

Joey Scar: Everyone knows the only way to start addressing the deficit is to cut spending and raise taxes.

David Gregory: The Republicans will not specify what cuts they're going to make nor will they give in on taxes.

Scar: Obama and Boehner know what's necessary. They could cut a deal in an hour and a half if they just stopped listening to the extreme voices on the left and the right.

Gregory: Yes, this is the problem for both of them.

Halperin: Absolutely...

Scar: Just this week, for example, we had David Axelrod getting shouted down by left-wing bloggers for suggesting the White House was ready to do a deal on the Bush tax cuts.

Everybody, all at once: There you go!

It's extreme to hold the line on letting the top rate return to the Clinton-era level, but at the same time everyone knows you're going to have to raise taxes to fix the deficit. This is what passes for insider wisdom...

1. It's because in the short term we need to prop up spending but in the long term we need to cut back.

2. He looks like a rat. What beady eyes!
It makes me sick: watching these republicans whine about paying down the debt, after 8 years of republican bacchanalia. What hypocrites!

3. Cut a Deal. Cut a deal. cut a deal.
How about a little transparency before we are handed
a RW Bill.

Why in the heck did this report or whatever it is called
have to come out now.

Right now people were trying to get their heads around
the taxcuts.

This is just a first draft which needs to go into File l3
as far as I am concerned.

The biggest complaint about Obama is he tries to do too
much too fast and this is why the Republicans were able
to smear him. That group he has are politically tone
deaf. They had better get past the check off technocrat
image. Politics matters. They should have known that
bringing this thing out now will only roil people up.

Both parties had better get it together. For a while
do one thing at the time. Get some air time to discuss
things. People str in a twit over the Bush Tax cuts, Obama
is in one country after another. Out come the Deficit
hawks.

You get Scarborough twlling them to cut a deal. The
people do not trust anyone so we need to cut a few
back room deals.

Start using political skills or everything will go up in flames.

They surely better work over that first draft--not
exactly a winner by any standards unless you are
a RW Ideologue.

Oh yes, and we get the news on DADT. Some time
is needed for resolving this.
