Unprecedented bounce for President Obama in Gallup tracking polling after midterms
Usually, presidents go down post midterm. Not this one. XD:)

http://www.gallup.com/poll/144347/Obama-Approval-Advances-Pre-Election.aspx

At 47%, his latest approval rating is also near the top of the 41% to 48% range within which it has varied since August.

Any of several political and economic events in the news since late last week could account for the slight improvement. Obama made a post-election speech last Wednesday in which he struck a mostly conciliatory tone, stocks rallied late in the week to their highest levels since September 2008, partly spurred by Thursday's better-than-expected jobs report, and Obama's 10-day diplomatic tour of Asia began with a much-publicized state visit to India.

"Despite the uptick in approval for the president in the last few days, Obama's average approval rating for the week ending Nov. 7 is 45%, identical to his average for all of October."While the increase in Obama's job approval rating since the election is small in absolute terms, the fact that it is up at all after his party's major congressional and gubernatorial losses is notable. According to Gallup trends, former Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush saw their job approval ratings decline after their parties' midterm election losses in 1994 and 2006, respectively.

Rasmussen concurs with Gallup btw. 47%.

14. Not good news for some
Some of them so proud of teaching Obama a lesson are probably pissed to see this news today. It also goes to show that not all the criticism is constructive but pure hate.

4. That says 'it isn't about Obama'.
People know what he's up against....well the haters don't choose to know, but then they voted repug anyway.

5. Contrary to what MSNBC thinks, he handled Tuesday with grace...
... and a fair amount of contriteness. Whether he was correct is a matter of debate but one thing is for certain after seeing Bush's interview tonight.

That attitude is "Change You Can Believe In."

7. Well, according to data
only 40% of the voting-age public actually voted in this past election, so the results should not be considered representative of how people feel about President Obama (and why the Republicans shouldn't read them as a "mandate"- though they already are)

How about the fact that the corporate anti-Obama ads aren't running on the tv box 24/7 any more?

24. I agree. Who the heck changed their mind about their politics in the span of a week?
Who said before the election, "I disapprove of Obama" and a week later say, "I approve of Obama." Either it's a bunch of manipulative nonsense or a long call list of schizophrenics.

26. Rather humorous poll .....
presumably those who felt Obama was worthy of support would have come

out to vote -- or was it because Obama wasn't running???

22. And so far...
None of the "liberal" media has reported this. My prediction is that his approval rating will be in the 60s by 2012.

25. After a couple Boehner screws ups
Obama's ratings will be in the 60's easy.
And it won't take long for Bonehead to screw up!

Does this represent his composure in handling the results of the election?

I mean, little has been done since.
