To the Media, Pollsters, Pundits, and some Bloggers. CUT THE CRAP!
Edited on Fri Nov-05-10 12:00 PM by SunsetDreams
Dear spinmeisters, divisivepromotionists,

STOP WITH THE BULLSHIT!

that

Blacks caused the election loss....
Gays caused the election loss....
Hispanics caused the election loss....

Insert any group that tends to vote with the Democratic Party here......
I'm not buying that shit! When I go vote, it does not have my name on it, it is anonymous. It doesn't have my race, or hell even my gender! YOU CANNOT SAY this shit with certainty.......so therefore all it is, is Divisive BS aimed to divide the Democratic Party!

Blacks voted this way, Whites voted that way, Hispanics went that way, Gays went here.......JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP ALREADY!

But but....those we polled identified with this group or that group....HELLO?????? Anyone can lie over the damn phone!

Sincerely,
Pissed off Democrat

Everyone knows, or should know, that Midterms never have the turnout that General Elections do.

1. They're still trying to divide Dems and unfortunately some are falling for it.

2. What caused the loss is simple

-GOTV (they won this ground game, mainly because they had a boogeyman to run against)
-Traditional Republican areas flipping back to Republican
-Dems losing a few of our traditional seats (we'll get em back at some point)
-The climate in the nation...which certainly has to do with the economy, but the hate-mongers and the media surely played their part

Bush exploded the government budget so as to make the gov't ineffective, thus leading to this call to reduce it.

We need Democrats running the government, because by and large they actually KNOW HOW to run it and have a vested interest in it RUNNING efficiently (that interest is it not be dismantled).

All the stars aligned and now the idiots are taking over.

5. Our turnout was actually quite equal to 2006, their turnout was just ridiculously high
because they were ultra motivated. They had the hate, they had others who normally are swing voters that were angry with the bad economy. Anything else offered up is utter crap. The demos were slightly different in terms of what groups of Dems showed up but our turnout was not abysmally low.

10. Same point though

They winning the ground game didn't mean the Dems didn't do well, it's just the klan did amazingly well.

12. Yea I think we showed up

We lost the independents (and knee jerk voters) as they got sucked into the evil sway of the Reich.

If you really don't know crap and you see this massive movement going crazy saying America is dying, the communists are taking over, they are going to take all your money and give it to bums and free-loaders, then you may think those people have YOUR best interests at heart.

It's easier to play offense in politics.

6. The lack of student/young people turnout was not helpful. A lot of
time and resources were spent on them.

18. Well said!
Midterms are midterms and turnovers are not uncommon, dare I say almost predictable due to lower turnout, etc.

Recommended.

19. Thank you,
If one looks back throughout the history of Midterm elections, you can clearly see that the turnout is always lower.
It's to be expected, and generally speaking what happens is the party currently in office, will lose.
