Quote of the Day
"I think the most interesting thing to watch in the next Congress is how many Democrats start voting with us. Every one of the 23 Democrats up in the next cycle has a clear understanding of what happened Tuesday. I think we have major opportunities for bipartisan coalitions to support what we want to do."

I disagree: two sitting senators were beaten: Lincoln and Feingold. Both of these senators voted often with the GOP, for different reasons, but they did. (the 4 other states were seats where the incumbent was not running (ND, IL, IN) or was beaten during a primary (PA)

Actually, Feingold is the only member of the Democratic leadership that was beaten (I feel sorry for him).

So, I hope the Democratic Senators will not learn the wrong lesson. Voting with the GOP does not work, whatever the reason.

Edit: does not

1. Points for the misplaced space in the title
putting McConnell and doe snot back to back is strangely appropriate.

2. Senator McConnell -- you're the MINORITY leader.
We need a new majority leader. Someone who will remember which party is in control of the Senate and not yield to this BS.

3. Mitch is spinning pretty hard. I think some Democrats need to remind him he is still minority
leader and show him the EXIT POLL data. The voters want JOBS, not the Republican agenda.

I love this quote. Every Democrat and left leaning pundit needs to keep repeat your line over and over again.

4. Nothing's stopping Democrats from using the filibuster as well
This decreased majority might actually empower the liberals in the Senate.

6. Sounds like a threat to me. Those 23 Dems are going to be
targeted by all the outside group money if they don't comply with the GOP.

17. There are enough Dems to vote for the tax cuts
that even voiced approval of them...some of them were conned into the 2year extension bull-shit...real good ..lets fight over this again during a major election...yeah, that'll work...
