Democrats, Democratic Party Organization and all that jazz..
Edited on Thu Nov-04-10 09:05 AM by Peacetrain
Just some thoughts on the world of Democrats.

We have got to get back to on the ground organization again along with the internut (yes I know what I spelled) organizing.

We are a party of organizing in union halls, churches, campuses where ever people gather.. We need in person.. face to face time.

For some reason many Democrats (part of the Party.. if you are not a party Democrat, this does not apply to you) have walked away from that.

It is important aspect of being able to govern. We let the Republicans grab patriotism from us.. (There is nothing more Patriotic than a Democrat), and define it as a Republican Value.. we are now letting them take that awesome in person organization away (the T people did a very good job of that with the help of big money)

We have to do it all.. they (the conservs.) are making great headway in things like twitter because they are using that personal touch on the internet.

I am speaking as an old line Democrat... One from the days of organization in Churches, Synagogues, Temples, and Union Halls and college campuses.

While we still embrace Campuses.. we have walked away from that great middle in other organizations.. and we can move the big elections every four years.. but we also need to move the mid terms or we start to lose everything we have gained.

We can't just sit and pat ourselves on the back that we mastered one set of ways of communicating with one another, and let the republicans steal the show right behind us

We sometimes are spending way too much time quarreling with each other..(this is for Democrats again)

The republicans grabbed it and established an media outreach that we just do not have.. When I read articles about Democrats taking the media of the future.. the first thing that comes to my mind is Limbaugh, because I have seen even in here.. ops about using internet as the main media outreach, how old caucusing types of events are the past.. we we need to hang on to ALL of them..

We can't afford to let anything go..
