House GOP (Issa) May Investigate Bush
House GOP May Investigate Bush

The Republican takeover of the House of Representatives may not just be bad news for President Barack Obama. The attention-grabbing next chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, California Rep. Darrell Issa, said Wednesday that he will investigate George W. Bush. "I'm going to be investigating a president of my own party, because many of the issues we're working on began President Bush or even before, and haven't been solved," Issa said. In particular, the GOP will look at what happened at the former Mineral Management Service under Dubya, after reports of corruption. Investigation of mortgage giants Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae will also bring the 43rd president back into the spotlight. Bush is in the news once again with a memoir slated for release next week.

2. Despite what Issa is saying now, I would not hold my breath.
He will be stopped by the leadership in his own party, I expect.

3. corruption in the "Mineral Management Service"
Edited on Thu Nov-04-10 06:11 AM by Proud Liberal Dem
That's ALL he thinks is worth investigating about Bushco?!

:wtf:

That's almost like Susan Collins' committee spending most of their time when she was in charge investigating Diploma Mills instead of the real corruption that was running rampant during the Iraq occupation/*reconstruction*

:eyes:

8. Don't hold your breath for this to happen. Issa just wants to make
a little window dressing about being non-partisan first before he begins to tar and feather Obama.

9. Issa is a sleazebag and this is a set up...
nothing will come of it, but it offers him, (in his twisted mind), and opportunity to then move on and push for investigations in the Obama Admin. It's the old, I'm being fair about all of this, I went after bush first" saw.

Issa is one of the sleaziest human beings alive, absolutely everything he does is pre-planned to harm a D in some way, shape or from. Where was all of this talk about investigating bush while the clown was in the WH when it might have done some good? It's a set up, and a transparent one at that. Issa is a pig.

10. It's a BS distraction to make himself sound reasonable.
If he does any "investigation" of Bush, he'll quickly find him innocent of any wrongdoing and then call big, expensive hearings into Obama's birth certificate, religion, fund raising, shlong size -- anything he can think of that will tie up Obama's hands.

11. Congressional investigations by Rs until 2006 - 0
SO ... these jackwagons did ZERO investigations on Bush in the 6 of the 8 Bush years they had the gavel, they also screamed bloody murder with the MSM to make Pelosi promise to not investigate Buscho, and NOW they are going to "investigate" his administration?

AND, with these clowns having run on saying that the dems needed to be booted for not focusing on the jobs and economy NOW, are going to burn time investigating an admin out of office 2 years ...

I am SURE the MSM will ask him to explain these disconnects ...

Just BS to give himself cover to go after every piece of garbage he can in going after BO ...

14. Investigating with the goal of vindicating.
Smart move on Issa's part.

Considering that the entire media apparatus of the United States is supportive
of Republicans, they should be able to spin this to GOP/Bush advantage,
as usual.
