GENERATIONAL DIFFERENCES ...
Edited on Wed Nov-03-10 07:36 AM by Joanne98
Republicans carried voters age 40 and up, split 30-somethings and lost those who are younger. Almost 6 in 10 voters age 65 and up backed Republicans, a stronger margin than they gave GOP presidential candidate John McCain in 2008. About the same number in the under-30 crowd voted Democratic on Tuesday - more modest support than they gave Obama two years ago. Another noticeable contrast: Those over age 65 outnumbered the youngest group by about 2-1 on Tuesday. In 2008 the two groups' numbers were more even.

Seniors were McCain's largest demographic group in 08. They're the Republicans largest demographic group again. That's two elections in a row. That's probably because they are the least comfortable about having a black president.

What we have to do to send the wave right back to them.........

Forget seniors and focus on the young and the "near to retirement boomers" who the Tea Party is going to try and screw with SS and medicare cuts.

Our coalition should be...blacks, latinos, young people and people between 50 and 60.....

Women. We have not exposed the "mama grizzley's" for their agenda to roll back women's rights. We have two years to do that.

Also we need to demonize the Tea Party and the fundies EVERYDAY until the next election. This is going to have to be done by alternative media because as everybody knows the MSM helped the Republicans from DAY ONE by letting them LIE everyday on tv.

The thugs have NO new ideas just the same ones that caused the mess in the first place. This will only cause more problems. We can't let them blame the new messes they cause on us.

Luckily the left has more financial blogs now and if we support them, they will really help us to explain the markets to the voters. The voter is ignorant about how markets work and that area needs alot of work.

I'm upset but I pretty much expected this. The MEDIA and the MONEY was so in the tank for the right that we had no chance.

2012 starts today. ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK!

NO MORE NICE!

PS I think prop 19 will pass in 12'. The seniors voted against that too. We need to put it back on the ballot.

1. Tea partiers first vote - they'll have to raise the debt ceiling.
Yeah, Rand - you.

Good post, JoAnne. Let's fight!

2. I'm ready. One problem with winning everything was that we didn't have any targets.
