Who is a typical early voter (where it's available)?

I'm guessing it's someone who decided months ago, solid Dems or Repukes, not some undecided independent who decides at the last minute if they decide at all

2. I'm guessing you're right.

At first I was resistant to the idea of early voting because I liked the tradition of voting on "the day", but now I love it. My office happens to be in my voting precinct(which also happens to be one of our county's early voting sites) so it's interesting to observe (indirectly) how things are going both on the actual day of the election and during the two weeks or so of early voting. So far early voting is up quite a bit over prior mid-term elections.

3. I've been early-voting since 2002...

...and I've spoken in line with independents who are voting early, too, but even so they've already decided who they're voting for. So I agree that most early-voters have decided how they're voting.

Until (okay, unless) Election Day is made a holiday, early voting is the next best solution. And Election Day will never be made a holiday because it benefits those in power that people who can't take the day off, more likely to be poor or working class, not vote at all.
