I would like to think that this rally is not merely a flash in the pan. That it's meaningful...
but what do you think? Will this rally be merely the veneer of politics encasing comedy, or will those participating and watching take symbolic meaning from this moment? Will that symbolism become a part of future cultural production so that the truth that the irony of this rally intends to unmask bears weight in American politics?

What do you think?

1. I'm waiting to see....

I want to see what is actually said...what actually happens at the rally. The gathering in and of itself may or may not have long-lasting meaning and impact, though I sure hope it does.

:)

2. It would had been more meaningful if they had mini rallies across the country
and then go out in droves in the community to hang door hangers.

3. It will thankfully be forgotten by tonight
The hip new version of Broderism is no more a solution than the usual old version of Brodersim.

4. I think this rally is the result, not the cause of the country's state of mind
It's symbolic of the condition of this country and is a success for that reason. It isn't the jumping off point for anything. The people who showed up at this rally, all 300,000 thousand of them went there on their own dime without being bused in or underwritten by lobbyists. There wasn't an msm drum beating 24/7 to get these people there, nor was any propaganda or hate used to get people to go to it.
