DE Senate--Fairleigh Dickinson University Poll: Coons 57% O'Donnell 36%
Edited on Thu Oct-28-10 11:48 AM by WI_DEM
(I remember on primary night in one of his passionate moments Chris Matthews predicted that O'Donnell would win the election because she was exciting and had such passion behind her):

WILMINGTON, Del. -- Despite a spate of television ads aimed at reintroducing her to voters, Republican Senate hopeful Christine O'Donnell of Delaware has failed to chip away at Democratic nominee Chris Coons' strong lead, according to a new poll. She even may be going backward.

The survey released Thursday from Fairleigh Dickinson University-PublicMind shows Coons holding a commanding 21-point lead, with 57 percent of likely voters saying they will vote for him compared to just 36 percent for O'Donnell. O'Donnell trailed by 17 points in a similar Fairleigh Dickinson poll released earlier this month.

"It would be an historic comeback for her to win on Tuesday," said Dan Cassino, a Fairleigh Dickinson political scientist.

The latest survey of 797 likely voters was conducted from Oct. 20-26 and has a margin of error of 3.5 percentage points.

8. The last sentence of that article from the News Journal speaks volumes....

Cassino said O’Donnell has firmed up her core constituency -- tea party types who oppose abortion and any restrictions on gun ownership -- and theorized that she would likely do well in some southern or western states.

“It’s not that she’s a bad candidate,’’ Cassino said. “She’s running in absolutely the wrong place. If she were in Kentucky or Alaska, she’d be winning.’’

When it gets right down to it, the only difference between Angle and O'Donnell is location. Let's say for some reason Angle was from Delaware and O'Donnell was in Nevada. THey both would have the same distorted message but more than likely Angle would be a goner and O'Donnell would have a strong chance of being the next senator from Nevada.

3. Could the media just please stop putting O'Donnell's silly face
on the news. She is no longer relevant to the political situation.

7.  Her “very unfavorable’’ ratings are now at 44 percent -- a 7 percent increase.
54% find her only unfavorable.

I really hope this is the last we ever EVER see of O'Donnell running for office.
