When Congressmen and candidates come out against our President and Party Leaders...
Edited on Mon Oct-25-10 11:31 PM by kentuck
...there is something terribly amiss. How can we expect support from the average voter if we are having Congressmen and candidates for Congress come out against our President and Speaker of the House?

One cannot help but ask, "Why are they Democrats to begin with?" How can anyone trust them if they are so quick to jump ship when the going gets tough? They expect Democrats to continue voting for them even though they have bad-mouthed the President and our Party? How many will switch to Republican after this election?

"Well, Pelosi might die..." one southern Democrat opined. Many of them cannot draw enough distance between themselves and the President. They don't want to admit that they are Democrats. I wonder why they are not registered Republicans?? What part of the Democratic platform do they agree with?

2. They Agree, Sir, With The Part That Says 'Elect Me So I Can Fill My Pockets Fuller!'
It seems likely most of these wretchees will lose to open Republcans; as they say, 'it's an ill wind blows no good...'.

3. I wonder how many would remain if their pay was cut in half?

Public service was not meant as a way to become wealthy.

4. They ought to be left to their own devices on health insurance as well -
then they might notice what it's like for many in this country who don't have insurance or can't afford to use it.

7. It Is Not the Pay, Sir: It Is The favors From New-Found Friends....
My memory fails to disclose any instance of a person exiting Congress worth less than they were on arrival.

8. Very correct, Magistrate..
How can so many people in "public service" become millionaires in such a short time? Something is not right.

5. The only thing that the slimeball Jason Altmire ("D", PA) offers is a count of one
toward the majority for us. He is running against President Obama and Speaker Pelosi. His ads on TV make me sick.

6. They're doing what politicians do. It's either run away and change themselves or try to educate
their voters and it's easier to change your positions than try to educate people.

9. They pop up every election
In 2004, it was Zell Miller and in 2008, Lieberman. In 1994, it was Richard Shelby. That guy is a royal asshole. Zell Miller was simply crazy.
