Maybe Peggy Noonan serviced Joe Klein for pimping the Big Lie on Meet The Press

Peggy Noonan was SO HAPPY when Joe Klein made a complete self-absorbed freeper ass out of himself on the Republican show Meet The Press when Klein responded to how Sarah Palin might run in 2012. Instead of really answering the question, Peggy Noonan was smiling ear to ear when Klein responded:

If this can be described very, very briefly, people think the—they know what the Republicans stand for: lower taxes, less government, less regulation. They have no idea what the Democrats stand for, except for these big, slovenly pieces of legislation that we’ve seen which inevitably contain ridiculous provisions.

Maybe Klein wanted a date with the slovenly Noonan or they had a couple glasses of sparkling wine for brunch before the show, but it was hideous and OF COURSE, unanswered by fellow Karl Rove dance partner David Gregory.

"They have no idea what the Democrats stand for" is akin to the Fox News blowholes inferring their Far White Wing agenda by saying "some people say..."

1. "They have no idea what the Democrats stand for"
The Georgetown Cocktail Party media has been saying that for 20 years now.

2. David Gregory started out the show by doing a rehash of the IL senate mess from 2008
I deleted it right then and there. I don't know why I still bother to record it since it's the same Republican shit time after time.

3. Meet The Press is now NOT on my Sunday DVR schedule
It's only good for making me yell at my TV. After today's incredibly WEAK MTP, it was time to delete the series. If I wanted to watch Fox News, I'd watch Fox News. Meet The Press with Gregory has been nothing but a lop-sided, transparent disappointment for a while.

4. Did you read the whole thing?
snip//

MR. KLEIN: I like—do I want to remember this? But anyway, people respect him. You don’t see the fist-shaking anger that you often see on cable news. Certainly, there’s some Obama haters out there. Most people respect him, but they don’t quite admire him. He’s floating over this debate in an—you know, and, and doesn’t seem to be part of the things that people are most concerned about. They don’t understand what’s in the health reform legislation, they don’t understand what’s in the financial reform regulation. They’re beginning to see the stimulus in a different way because you can’t drive 30 miles in this country without hitting a road crew. And they’re feeling a little bit better about the auto bailout. But they feel that the big issues that we’re talking about here—the jobs being expressed overseas, China—they haven’t heard from him. For every time someone mentioned Afghanistan, the war in Afghanistan, which is an issue I’ve been obsessed with, they mentioned China 25 times.

snip//

there's more, and I don't know that your characterization is right.

Klein is on our side this year imo.

5. Klein's closing statement proves he's certainly NOT on our side and is a buffoon
I watched the "interview" and besides the nauseating Noonan buffoonery, Klein was certainly NOT a person (by his conclusion) who cares to be an intelligent journalist with anything of substance than can be respected.

He is an ass.

7. I watched part of the interview this a.m., but I'm not ready
to discount him because of his reach with his articles. I am not ready to discount anyone who might have our best interests at heart, and he's written some good stuff for us.

He might be an ass, but I think he's our ass.

11. O.K. I'll make sure to podcast this show, though I haven't done so admittedly
since Russert passed.

13. Remember, this is the Joe Klein who, as the author of "Bound For Glory" couldn't handle the fact
that Woody Guthrie, in the 1930's, with the country in absolute economic collapse, decided to be a Red. As if there was no possible reason for anyone to consider that as an option at the time.

And the SAME Joe Klein who, the moment David Dinkins' primary victory over Ed Koch was confirmed in 1987, immediately started talking up Rudy Giuliani.

6. Hmmm... I usually with you, BS, but that totally doesn't sound like Klein
is on our side. He's peddling the same M$M wingnut talking points that the rest of them do.

Rather than providing insight on what's in the health care reform bill or talking about how the Republicans blocked nearly every piece of legislation before the Senate, there should be more balance, but there isn't. If Klein was representing our side, I'd rather just have George Will in his place. He was absolutely disgusting this morning.

9. OK. I trust you read the whole thing vs. a snip? And there's
never enough room to provide insight on these shows, which is why some of his articles have been insightful.

10. Peggy was on Fareed Zakaria's show Sunday.
Talking up the Tea Party, calling them "diverse" and "spontaneous."

An old Doobie Brothers song came to mind:

"What a fool believes, she sees."

12. Anyone here read the book....
Presimetrics? It was published a few months back and using government released statistics it shows that repub presidents/congress stand for - bigger government, at times higher taxes, HUGE deficits and national debt, and very average in job creation. Meanwhile, dem presidents do the opposite - create job growth, cut deficits and cut the size of the government. If only elections were based on the facts.
