Sen. Jim DeMint: Gays And Unmarried, Pregnant Women Should Not Teach Public School
South Carolinian, Time to wake up.. He needs to go.. he is nut and hatred..

Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) attempted to convince pastors that economic issues are moral issues at the Greater Freedom Rally at a church in Spartanburg, South Carolina yesterday, imploring them to help conservatives retake Congress in November.

In addition to reiterating anti-choice talking points on abortion and backing "traditional marriage," according to the Spartanburg Herald-Journal, the senator went further and "said if someone is openly homosexual, they shouldn't be teaching in the classroom and he holds the same position on an unmarried woman who's sleeping with her boyfriend -- she shouldn't be in the classroom."

1. Well...
MORONS like him should not be in congress either! He is so full of it, and he is either just as crazy as the tea baggers, or he is simply trying to take over as their "leader", either way he is a moron!

11. Do you think Jim DeMint says the shit he does
so that it looks like a fair competition with Greene?

Actually, I think compared to DeMint, Greene is a rocket scientist.

16. How Inquisitional of Jim DeMint to propose
Edited on Sun Oct-03-10 06:48 AM by saltpoint
moral restrictions on public servants.

Hey Jim. How about a rule that bans Republican Senators who hire hookers to change their diapers from serving in the U.S. Senate?

Just a suggestion.

There've been lesbians and gay men who have taught school for some centuries now. What needs fixing in public education has absolutely nothing to do with the sexual orientation of teachers. Women, pregnant or not, have every right to be public servants, including school teachers.

If DeMint is actually interested in making meaningful reforms in public educastion I suggest he speak out against standardized testing.

17. it is not
the 1st time he has said this. He said it in 2004. He was elected anyhow. Mainly because the liberal press basically ignored it. The few media outlets that did report it, well their air time conflicts with church time.
