Feingold releases new TV ad
(this sounds like a good one, finally)

U.S. Sen. Russ Feingold (D-Wis.) has a new TV ad out. Or more accurately, a new ad that revisits a campaign theme he has used before.

Called "Garage Door," the ad shows clips from Feingold's 1992 campaign when he announced his pledge to voters on his garage door. Feingold points out that, back then, "I was just a Middleton guy, running against multimillionaires with lots of TV ads," a not so subtle dig at his opponent, Ron Johnson.

In the new ad, Feingold points out that he still lives in the same Middleton home. Feingold then says: "Not much has changed today - I still live in the same house and I continue to always keep my promise to put the people of Wisconsin ahead of any party or corporate interest. Except now I put my promises on my website, not my garage doors.”

4. I'm Not Worried Yet
Yet, being the operative word in that sentence. If Russ is still looking bad in October, I will definitely start to worry.

5. I'm not worried at this point. Over the past 18 years Feingold has met with thousands
of people in Wisconsin all over the state and that is worth a lot. I know of Republicans who vote for Feingold in the same way they voted for Bill Proxmire because they feel they can trust him, and that goes a long way.

I've read that Feingold has private polls that show him leading.

7. Those ads were priceless
They were gently humorous and showed what a genuinely good guy he is. And he still is, just a little older and grayer but still the most honorable guy in the room.
