DADT is a big issue today but also Immigration Reform is on the table.
The first of many steps are going on today for not only LGBT rights, but also Immigration Reform. I hope after this, and I hope to God it's a successful procedure for both and I don't have to deal with homophobic and racist conservatives. But the hints earlier on suggests otherwise. In any event....homophobia is not also in play here.

Racism/cultural warfare is at play here. Repubs aren't only against repealing DADT and using the deadline as the only crutch. They are against immigration reform plan, I believe called the Dream Act which is also part of the bill and do away with it. So kids of immigrants who are raised in this country and go to uni here are not allowed to gain their citizenship---that's what they would be against. And those who want to serve our country are also denied a path to citizenship. These are people who can give back who are willing to die and we have Repubs grasping at another straw---->"It's a threat to our national security." as mentioned by McConnell I believe.

While only 4 years ago McConnell and McCain were pushing this. McCain is the worst kind of liar and doesn't fight for what's right and to be honest what this paints Repubs as---all of them and any Dem who votes against this bill---they are willing to let service men and veterans die, they are completely against human rights and are homophobes, and lastly they are so racist and ingrained in their racism they would risk our country.

I have seen some posts here who seem to lay blame against Dems for some of these things, especially on the fact there is a deadline on the repeal---as though that would have stopped Republicans who are using this as a crutch to vote against the bill. No, they are just the most despicable types of people on Earth, who have no sense of decency or worth, and just hate the President in general---since some of the stuff in the bill they claim to be advocates for but now find reason to vote against it.

We are against far right, racist, homophobic, and sexist mentality that has taken over the GOP and some Dems who have sunken into that pit (if any share that ideal). I will not sit here and apologize for them when they are just negative assholes in general and are against anything good for the American people. In short they hate America and because they're hate towards Obama and/or his policies have them reacting in hate and fear mongering of the President and there for American ideals.
