Independent candidate Lincoln Chafee holds a very slight lead over Democrat Frank Caprio in the first Rasmussen Reports post-primary survey of Rhode Island’s gubernatorial contest.
The latest Rasmussen Reports statewide telephone survey of Likely Voters shows Chafee picking up 33% of the vote, while Caprio is right behind with 30% support. Republican John Robitaille comes in third with 23%, and Moderate Party candidate Ken Block runs last with five percent (5%) of the vote. Nine percent (9%) remain undecided.
Sixty percent (60%) of Rhode Island voters approve of how President Obama is performing. Forty percent (40%) disapprove.
4. Hmm I hadn't heard that before. If he is then I would prefer Chafee win.
The problem is we have so few opportunities to get Governorships. It looks like we are only going to have something like 19 if Nate Silver is correct. I really don't want to have the media have any reason to further prop up the GOP. They have been shoving that narrative down the public's throat for months. The Senate looks pretty good but the House is a problem with us gettin about 211 seats unless things flip and the Governorships is another issue. I would at least like us to get California.
Chafee when he was a Republican was basiclly a liberal Republican. He was the only Republican to vote against the Iraq War.He refused to endose Bush In 2004 and as Independent In 2008 endorsed Obama.having him Elected Governor would not the end of the world although If I lived In Rhode ISland I would vote for the Democrat.
