Mike Castle will NOT endorse O'Donnell

"She is a con artist who won by lying about Castle's positions and her own life," said Kate Dickens, a Castle aide

3. That's right..he most certainly will not!
Castle will not back O'Donnell
By Shane D'Aprile - 09/14/10 11:24 PM ET

A Rep. Mike Castle (R-Del.) campaign source confirmed to The Hill late Tuesday that the longtime congressman will not be endorsing Christine O'Donnell.

The Tea Party-backed O'Donnell defeated Castle for Delaware's Republican Senate nomination.

After the stunning primary loss, Castle's campaign also said the longtime congressman is not interested in waging a write in bid this November.

In Alaska, Sen Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) is contemplating an independent write in campaign after she lost to Tea Party backed Joe Miller in the August GOP primary.

As to whether the national party would back O'Donnell, a Castle campaign source said the campaign has no knowledge of their thinking but said "they should save their money."

4. Sweet!
If we ask nicely, will she make a similar comment about Palin?

I felt bad for Castle last night, he's probably a decent guy, R or no R. And I remember last year, during the horrid august town halls, he was cornered with some horrible question (birth certificate I think, not sure), and he behaved decently while looking completely disgusted.

5. It is a flat out shame ...
we gotta watch our numbers, so you can't flat out advocate for any R, but it is a dirty shame the party has moved even FURTHER toward purging every and any reasonable member from congress ...

8. I agree
and I do not think it's good even for us in the long term (short term: Thank you Ms. Palin and Ms. what's your name). But dems NEED a decent, smart, and respectable opposition. You cannot have an effetive political system with basically one party, a bunch of nuts, and some crumbs (greens, no offense intended, libertarians, etc.). Either the republican party will come to its senses SOON or a valid third party is likely to emerge pretty soon, I think.

9. The lady in the red dress who was such a whack job
Edited on Wed Sep-15-10 05:58 PM by RamboLiberal
She was banned from calling in to the local RW talk radio. WGMD. From Will Bunch's new book The Backlash - which incidentally he talked to many DE Tea Partiers. Must be one of the few pundits not surprised today.

She made a call in 2009 where she predicted alien contact in SW US in 2009. She'd make prank calls consisting of fart noises. The radio station actually had an on-air intervention for her 2 weeks before the Castle incident.

Bunch called her Eileen M.

But did any of the MSM check if this lady was a whack job?

BTW here's the video of Crazy Eileen - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9V1nmn2zRMc

Also Bunch tells how WGMD for days & days ginned up the crazies to go to this meeting.

Here's first chapter from Bunch book The Backlash which talks about that town hall & the crazy lady in red. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/09/13/books/excerpt-backlash.html?pagewanted=1&_r=1

6. It doesn't get any better. The GOP casting call is done, and they've got quite the freak show.
O'Donnell, Paul, Miller, Angle, etc. there is plenty of crazy to expose on the national level. It will drag the Republican party down across the board. Nutty extremism does not play well in mainstream America.

11. The old coot Castle never lost an election in 40 years
It will take him at least 40 days to get over this humiliating defeat.
I am betting he falls in line behind O'Donnell before November.
