What do you think the pundits think/feel?
We all have our feelings of horror at even the possibility that rethugs might retake control and make our country even worse than what it was during the years of idiot son.

What do you think the pundits think/feel? I imagine some of them are Dems; don't thinking people have to be frightened at the possibilities of a rethug overthrow of Congress, especially with some of the new crazies involved?

We've heard what Issa wants to do; tie up legislation on every and anything related to Dems so nothing gets accomplished other than subpoenas he plans on issuing.

Why aren't the supposed journalists scared, why don't they really tell America what's going on?

1. I honestly think many want the GOP to win in Nov
Gridlock makes for better stories.

Also Im not even sure if the Democratic Party wouldnt prefer it so they have cover for caving in to the GOP instead of being exposed while caving in as the majority.

Americans. Do they give up their citizenship just because the story is better? Do they wish the worse for this country, to be able to scoop someone?
As for Dems, do you honestly believe anyone in the Dem party would prefer boner to Pelosi? I can't even fathom that.

4. They're wealthy. They don't care.....
The gridlock makes for better stories for them and their profession, and financially they don't have to worry about anything.

That's not to say the wealthy don't care, but pundits and journalists in this day and age are by nature self centered and emotionally vacant, so it's not likely most of them are empathetic out of some sense of patriotism and/or humanity.

6. They follow orders.
Talking heads who don't follow orders end up driving taxis. Integrity is an automatic disqualifier for the job.

The ruling class owns the media; they ensure that THEIR messages are dominant.

Take for example the recent voting scandals in TN. Which of the corporate media have given any coverage, let alone meaningful coverage, to the story?

8. "Integrity is an automatic disqualifier"-that pretty much
says it all except for the likes of Dionne, Krugman, Robinson, and our faves on m$nbc.

What a sad state of affairs.

2. Perhaps because their knowledge of history shows...
that power switches happen often but worst case scenarios are exceedingly rare.

I don't like the idea of the Republicans taking congress or the Senate. It will be 24/7 hearings until Obama is brought up on charges for impeachment. Whether he is convicted is unimportant.

I don't like the idea of legislation that will come out of such a congress. The President can Veto, but some things will get through because the government must function.

A Republican takeover will be uncomfortable, but we will not be plunged to the ninth level of hell by such an event. Preaching such an outcome is left ot the Becks of the world.

9. I didn't say it was just a Beckian wet dream...
Republicans will be more than happy to stop government until it is returned to their hands so they can screw it up unimpeded.

I just don't see why we should preach worst case scenarios. And investigations out the yingyang arn't a worst case scenario. They are how Republicans do bussiness, and there is lots of evidence now that shows that is what they intend.

10. Rec. Most of them care about exciting stories - they get more viewers when
the news is "controversial" than when it is good or positive, and I know at least some of them feel they are above it all and would not be affected if we had another Bozo president like W-or worse. I know Matt Lauer is a good buddy of Rush's, and I assume others just don't care as long as their ratings are good and they sell a lot of advertising..remember, that is the REAL purpose of every minute of TV time - selling shit to you.
Our media exists as a sales tool for Slap Chop and Chevrolet.
