Isn't an obit usually written after a death?
What's up with tweety burying the Dems when there is still 3 months to go before mid-terms? Isn't this just a wee bit preliminary?

FTR, I hope he has to eat his words.

1. Actually, it's common practice in newspapers to write obits for famous people before their deaths
It allows them to be published quickly.

2. So do you think tweety has one written for the rethugs and will
present that side tomorrow? I'm thinking no.

6. I think he's jumping the gun; is he doing what the rethugs do
all the time, say it enough and people will believe it?

I'm disgusted he's concentrating on something that has yet to occur.

And yes, same as it ever was, but I'm allowed to voice my disgust, I think.

5. M gues is tat all cable "news" hosts have at least an outline
no matter what happens in Nov. Same as they have two written for whatever the outcome of the AK. race is.

I didn't really hear Tweety say HE thought the Dems were doomed. I heard "the polsters" were saying that. I watched show the oterday whre they had two polsters n the sme show, one right after the other, and they had completely opposed opnions about the Nov. elct.

Wait a minute. Tweety isn't really famous.

8. This is the narrative that the MSM has been pushing for over a year now
By repeating over and over again that the Dems have no chance, they are hoping to depress Dems from voting.

22. Nate should know better. Three months is an eternity in politics. Polls mean nothing.
A weekend event could change the entire trajectory of politics. (Remember the weekend before the 2004 election, Kerry leading Bush, bin Laden tape emerges and alters the race?)

It is far too early to make these predictions. I can understand the so-called pundits and M$M blowhards like Tweety pushing this meme, but I cannot understand why serious experts and analysts like Nate Silver would also fall for this crap.

15. He will eat those words...
the GOP has absolutely nothing to offer...they are an election away from becoming irrelevant.

Now, if the D's spine up, and just leave those slugs in the dust, we'll be functional again...:hi:

17. I wonder if he'll ever acknowledge he said them?
They do have absolutely nothing to offer, but I see dumb people out there, or scared people who aren't thinking clearly.

I trust the Dems will put all their efforts in the upcoming months to fight all the negative perceptions out there. They do need to point out loudly when rethugs obstruct, as they will do, about any and everything.

:hi:

16. No, I believe that newspapers commonly write obits for the famous beforehand.
History predicts that the party in power commonly loses seats in an off year election and the climate this year is in no way favorable to Democrats. Reason and reality have to meet somewhere, but even if you think you may eventually drown you keep on swimming. After all, it ain't over till it's over.

elections...

27. +100. They were wrong when they said Obama didn't have a chance to win
the primary, forget about the election! And either Hillary or Guiliana would certainly be President. LOL. Yep, Guiliani ran a great campaign and did really well racking up those votes during the primary!

Even Rachel got into the game of guaranteeing what would happen. She "guaranteed" that Hillary would refuse to concede, take it to the conventio, and split the party.

I forgive Rachel because she seems to have learned her lesson about making psychic predictions. But the rest of them are still doing it and are still almost always wrong.

23. AFAIK, the BBC does dress rehearsals for the death of a very prominent individual.
i.e. if the Queen died (or the Prime Minister was assassinated), there would be a set pattern in place, and obituaries drawn up and programming changes made.

However Chris Matthews is going on about the "possible death" of the Democratic Party in the upcoming elections - and it is like a dress rehearsal to me.

IMO this dress rehearsal should never have hit the airwaves.

Mark.
