2. There sure isn't a shortage of things that need
to be fixed. Roads, bridges that are on the verge of collapse. We should be spending the war billions to destsroy the middle east on refurbishing out failing infrastruce, fossel fuel alternatives, decaying urban schools, mass transportation. Have I forgtten about 100 other issues? I think so.

Come on America - show your pride. Fix your country.

That is all - for now.

8. The stimulus bill is doing all of the things on your list.
"refurbishing out failing infrastruce, fossel fuel alternatives, decaying urban schools, mass transportation"

Billions went to all of that. Another round would be nice. I don't know if the Senate is going to vote for that right before the election.

4. Osama bin Laden's head?
That would be a universally positive one.

It'd steal the GOP's thunder on defense issues and it'd be a lovely segue to a change-of-mission-and-focus in Afghanistan winding down combat operations sooner than planned.

Really, it'd be a lovely piss-in-the-eye to Dick Cheney on his deathbed too.

Everybody's happy! Everybody dance!

7. This is what I find funny about all the early R-takeover predictions
The Dem campaign hasn't really even started yet, and 90% of the Repub candidates are demonstrably (with video proof) crazy.

As Rachel said, this mid-term campaign is going to be fun!

13. Pointing out the construction work that saved jobs.
Pointing out that automotive jobs that saved jobs in the industry and part supplies companies.

Pointing out that unemployment would be much higher than what it is now.

Pointing out that Republicans wanted the super rich to continue with their tax cuts even though the income in the same bracket as low and middle income families receives the same tax cuts.

Pointing out that Republicans voted against unemployment comp.

16. Final repeal of DADT
I think it's more likely to happen in December during the lame duck session of Congress. But, it would make sense in October for three reasons:

1) There's a shrinking number of people who still get angry about LGBT members of the military serving openly. It has become a winning issue for Democrats. Senate candidates in more conservative states like KY and MO would rather the public discussion be about LGBT soldiers serving their country than be asked more questions about gay marriage.

2) He needs to do something positive to motivate a portion of the Democratic base that doesn't require another immediate Congressional vote. Congress will be out of session campaigning in October.

3) It would be freaking awesome.

18. This is almost akin to a "loaded question".
Personally, I think he'll come out to the podium in the Rose Garden and claim that there has been 24/7 consideration of a new military survey concerning the repeal of DADT, that a Commission is being formed whose purpose is to study the potential effects of NAFTA renegotiation, and that shortly AFTER the mid-term elections, there will be a Chevy in every garage and a rabbit in every pot should American Voters give the democratic party a majority in both houses of Congress.

He will say something "full of sound and fury, signifying nothing".

But hey, I could be wrong... I've been wrong before. Numerous times in fact. One that comes to mind was believing that being a Fierce Advocate meant I'd hear about an issue every time the Bully Pulpit was available.
