Obama: Republicans have forgotten 'I politic pretty good'

President Obama told a Democratic crowd in Texas that he has spent 20 months governing while the GOP has spent 20 months "politicking."

"Now we've got three months to go so we figure we can politic for three months," Obama told the crowd gathered in Austin, Texas. "They've forgotten I politic pretty good."
Despite the recent dark-red voting trend of Texas, Obama lapsed into his now familiar campaign themes, blaming Republicans for driving the economy into a ditch under former President George W. Bush.

But Obama also disputed Republicans' complaints that the Democratic strategy of Bush-bashing is their focus.

"No, no, no, the reason we're focused on it is because the other side isn't offering anything new," Obama said.

The president took Rep. Joe Barton (R-Texas) to task on his home turf for his infamous apology to the heads of BP in the weeks after the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.

"And what does the ranking member, who would be the chairman of the Energy Committee, have to say? He apologized to BP," Obama said. "I don't know what he was thinking about. But it's consistent with a governing philosophy that says there shouldn't be any rules on the most powerful forces."

The fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee was expected to bring in more than $1 million.

2. The ONE thing I wish he'd model after Bu$h
is DON'T COMPROMISE with the other side.

They sure as hell didn't then, and they aren't now.

We don't need to water down progress because of some fucking greedy, crooked criminals who have THEIR best interest in mind, not the nation's.
