Dems should just let the Bush tax cuts expire
and then push through an entirely new, very narrowly defined tax cut for the middle class.
Let's see if the Repubs will filibuster that!!

And we need some very aggressive ads that sum up, for the chronically uninformed, what exactly the GOP has been doing: the GOP voted against help for small business, voted against unemployment insurance, against money for troops in war, and their only policy is for more tax cuts for the rich. It needs to be repeated over and over again and often.

into a different bill

3. Yes. Stop calling them the "Bush Tax Cuts"...
..let those go away and implement "Obama Tax Cuts" or "Democratic Tax Cuts".

Once again, the Dems cede the debate and the terminology to the republicans and are as always, worse off for it.

8. Totally.
Since trying to tinker with the existing Bush mess gives the republican tea party too many chances to score political gains, let them all expire. In October, offer a new clean bill that addresses middle and lower class tax cuts. Let the righties vote against it then.

10. Exactly! If the Dems attempt to exclude the top 2%, "blue dogs" will bolt!
Let it die a natural death.
