Hey Bible Spice - Hows that Family values thing working out for ya?
Edited on Wed Aug-04-10 10:29 AM by TheBigotBasher
In an interview with People magazine, the daughter of former vice presidential candidate and Alaska Governor Sarah Palin said that she and the father of her19-month-old son Tripp will not be getting married.

"It's over. I broke up with him," Palin told People.

The Palin family. America's excuse for the personification of the phrase tramps on stamps.

(With all due apologies to actual tramps)

1. To be fair, would it have been better for the daughter to have married someone she would have
eventually divorced?

If the former girlfriend in fact was the dealbreaker and Bristol couldn't get past it, maybe she shouldn't be getting married.

2. Why Do Red States Have the Worst "Family Values"?

The red state "family system" preaches early marriage and traditional gender roles -- a model no longer suited to our post-industrial economy. No wonder "red families" are falling apart.
August 2, 2010 |

Are conservative values voters who consider themselves pro-family more likely to divorce than their liberal counterparts?

Law professors Naomi Cahn and June Carbone had what they call their “ah-ha moment” when they started looking at how states voted in presidential elections and compared the results to social trends in those states. They found that states voting red -- presumably for socially conservative, “pro-family” candidates -- also had high divorce rates, higher than in blue states. Building on their research, Cahn and Carbone then developed theories about family formation in the U.S. and its relationship to political affiliation.

In their book Red Families v. Blue Families: Legal Polarization and the Creation of Culture, the authors explain that “red families” believe adulthood is forged by the responsibilities of getting married and having children early. Blue families, by contrast, defer marriage and childbirth until after they have reached adulthood, which usually follows economic and educational attainment. The reasons for the sharp divide are rooted in economic changes and personal belief systems, which both authors discussed with me recently. Their comments, culled from conversations via the telephone and e-mail, follow.

6. And a perfect example of that theory is this stupid Freeper
on a pro Palin blg tring to twist the strange mind it owns into an example of how perfect Sarah is.

this pretty much confirms what i believed of bristol when i saw the article saying she was ‘re-engaged’ to levi: having grown up in a home with both her parents, i felt that bristol was trying to give the same to tripp. i think it’s a testament to the upbringing that sarah and todd gave bristol that she was willing to try to give tripp the same thing.

unfortunately, as i said before, levi ain’t no todd palin.

i didn’t think bristol was wrong or stupid for trying, just young and naive. while i wouldn’t wish what she’s gone through with levi on her, i do hope that she’s learned enough from it to be much, much more cautious in future regarding herself and her son.

and levi? *shrugs* no matter how pretty the apple, if it’s rotten on the inside, sooner or later the rot spreads to where anyone can see it.

11. They have the highest abortion rates, the highest out of wedlock births, the lowest
marriage rates, the highest rates of incest, etc.

With all their talk about "family values," the numbers prove different. They are a bunch of hypocrites.

Disclaimer: I'm from a Red State--in fact, one of the reddest states in the union.

7. I expect the real deal breaker was the fact that they couldn't sell their reality show
The only reason they 'reconciled' was the hope they could make a nice killing with a reality show. Upon finding out that there wasn't even a whiff of interest in the project they decided they weren't as 'in love' as they thought and these other women became a convenient out for them. I have to believe that if there was any interest, they additional women and possible other babies would have made for even better pathos/ratings for their show.

Every dog knows his own and the Palins and the Johnstons are cut from the same cloth. I expect they'll wind up together yet down the road.....who else would have either one of them?

18. It is like watching Dallas in the 80's
It all went downhill after watching who shot JR, however you carried on watching knowing it was going downhill and wondering how much worse will this get.

The Plain family are the Bobby Ewing dream episode. Just with Bible Spice we are a few episodes away of waking up and understanding what a real nightmare that idiot would be.

Let the Republicans carry on thinking that Bible Spice will one day be President. They are destroying themselves while they do so.

Her family is the same Country-Western song disaster they they experience, but she is still "successful".
