4. Thought it would be even higher than that in NJ
but that is still very respectable, and i think he'll win the state easily in 2012..

In New York his approval is probably in mid 50's...

5. Not surprise

But I live in Central NJ – Red Somerset County

It’s completely realistic for an independent who leans liberal to have voted for President Obama AND to have voted AGAINST Corzine. The eejits didn’t vote for Christie . . . they voted against Corzine. And then again – some split off from both parties and went Dagget – Again in protest.

Even acquaintances that are Republicans, voted McCain – are pleased with Pres. Obama. The reality is red or not –the state tends towards progressive over all. Not ALL of the Reps/Conservatives do . . . but I think if you took 10 NJ Moderate Reps and 10 Centrist Dems from MS they might only be off on a point of view or two . . .

6. My father voted for Obama, but I doubt that he voted for Corzine.
I don't know what's happening to him. A black man, incredibly brilliant and well-informed. He didn't like Corzine. (I think a lot of people hated him due to his financial success.) I have a feeling that he may have supported Christie. A surprising number of Democrats did. And now they are reaping what they have sown. For them, it's all about property taxes. But, it's like pulling teeth trying to explain to them that Corzine wasn't responsible for raising property taxes. There are hundreds of small townships that have a lot of tax authority. It is these small towns that raised a lot of these taxes. What is more, property taxes were high under Corzine. They were high under Whitman. They will remain high under Christie. Why? Because the state and local townships need revenue, and the success of New Jersey is that it has a healthy tax base and is still a fairly wealthy state with good schools. You get what you paid for. Why people don't understand this is beyond me. Many people actually think that putting Christie in office will lead to better results. :puke::puke:

7. I don't doubt they did
"Think it would be better".

I've only lived in NJ for 4 years so I don't have a 'vested interest' - and I don't intend to stick around for more than another year or two. I think there was also a big attitude of Corzine Was A Banker.
