Hannemann Has Most Money In Governor's Race (HI)

HONOLULU --
Former Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann has been collecting money to run for Hawaii governor for more than a year even though he officially filed to run only last month.

According to state campaign spending reports due Monday, Hannemann has raised almost $2.5 million since he announced his interest in the governor's race.

In this latest campaign spending reporting period from Jan. 1 to June 30, 2010, Hannemann's campaign reports raising $822,305 in contributions.

Hannemann has spent about $852,400. He has $2 million left in cash.

Neil Abercrombie is going to win this primary, and God willing, the election. He is by far the best man for the job.

Neil is for almost everything the party voted on over and over again in our platform. Where was Mufi? Out on the rooftop hosting his private party right in the middle of resolutions. I guess he thought we would walk out on the reso committees?

How come he doesn't care about the party? I sure hope he doesn't do as he did in 1986 and trash Neil, which left us with Republican Pat Saiki. I sure hope Uncle Dan reminds him and persuades him to think about the Democratic party of Hawaii and keep his campaign positive.

After what happened with Duke Bainum, we'll see.
