McCain for Grimm in NY-13
Sen. John McCain is throwing his endorsement to NY-13 GOP hopeful Michael Grimm, a nod that could give the former FBI agent a boost in his bid to take on Rep. Mike McMahon in the Staten Island Congressional district.

McCain, the Arizona Republican who gained a reputation as a maverick in the last decade in the Senate, won the NY-13 district over Barack Obama in the 2008 campaign. It's expected that McCain is going to do some form of campaigning and fundraising for Grimm.

His endorsement comes in the final stages of a bitter Republican primary for the right to take on Democratic incumbent McMahon.

Grimm, a former FBI agent, is facing a primary in seven weeks against Bayside fuel heir Michael Allegretti, in a race that's been roiled by a fractured Staten Island GOP and the aborted re-entry of Vito Fossella.

1. 80% of the political signs I see on Staten Island
Edited on Wed Jul-28-10 09:01 AM by nyc 4 Biden
are for Grimm. The remaining 19% are for Allegretti. I saw literally one sign for McMahon. It appears the democratic base here on Staten Island hate McMahon as much as i do.

He's a New Democrat who voted against the Health Care Bill.

McMahon was also one of the traitors who signed the letter to FCC telling them to NOT protect network neutrality.

ETA: And I must add this gem from McMahon's own website...

2. Are either of these two teabaggers?
Both seem like typical Bush neo-cons to me. Pro-war, love the Patriot Act, etc.
