Joe Madison BASHES Rachel Maddow for bringing up the southern stratagy of the rethugs
Edited on Thu Jul-22-10 08:03 AM by bigdarryl
A caller called in and said I give props to Rachel Maddow for bringing up the rethugs history of trying to divide blacks and whites he gets upset saying QUOTE: I have been talking about that on my radio show a long time why are you calling my show talking about Rachel Maddow who is to young to even know what the southern strategy is.I'm not going to validate Rachel Maddow. Come on Joe just because YOU have been talking about it doesn't mean people heard your show.Everybody can't afford an XM radio subscription. And people work in the morning they might not hear your show .Instead of trying to denigrate Rachel you should be glad she was talking about it on prime time.Sometimes Joe gets carried away with his callers and doesn't like taking criticism. That was a LOW BLOW what you said about her that's my take

1. I'll bet LOTS of people in media are jealous of Rachel ...
She's gone far really fast and is doing excellent
work -- doesn't make Madison's reaction any easier
to take but it's only natural that there will be
resentment. But for him to point out her AGE is
just plain stupid. Some people (especially Rhodes
Scholars, hell-oooo!) have actually READ history
and didn't need to be there to understand what
went down.

5. Who is Joe Madison? I have XM and I've never heard of him.
And as for claiming Rachel would be too young to know what the Southern Strategy is ... that's silly.

The GOP's Southern Strategy might have began before she was born, but the GOP has never stopped using it. It just changes shape, the code words change ... that's all.

Moreover, Rachel is a Rhodes Scholar with, if I recall, a PhD in political science. Given that background, I suspect that not only does she know what the Southern Strategy is, she could probably teach on the subject.

6. Rachel
Rachel is also culturally aware enough to use the term "Opposite Day", which was a song on the excellent therefore it must be canceled Sarah Silverman show on Comedy Central.

I was born 9 years after world war 2 ended, but I still know some of it's history. I think it's a safe assumption that Rhodes Scholars tend towards being wiser than their years.

Sheesh.

7. Who is Joe Madison?
And why on Earth does he think he owns an area of American history? Does this Joe Madison guy never speak of history prior to his own personal recollection?
And OP, I can afford an XM subscription, but I don't have one because I don't want one. Money to hear second rate hacks express venomous jealousy tinted with homophobia and ageism? For that I am going to pay?

9. I agree on the XM subscription with a variation.
I don't know if I can afford a subscription. But I do know that I am not going to waste spending money on something that I will rarely use.
