I'm tired of this Bullshit Racist ass shit that has become routine discussion in the media....!
Edited on Tue Jul-20-10 04:41 PM by FrenchieCat
In reference to the Black Panther bullshit, this USDA Sherrod Woman, the NAACP, etc....
The media is getting on my fucking nerves! They pick at every fucking thing they can find
that is of a racial tone, and they talk about it as though they are all "race" experts, and they always link whatever it is directly to Barack Obama!

Shortly after the President was inaugurated in direct contradiction to the much discussed "Bradley Effect" (that was talked about all fucking election season!), and the Reverend Wright Mediapalooza,
Reporters asked a question of Barack Obama about something they had no business asking him about, and he dared answer, and they were all over his ass ...because of course, there was no right answer, only whatever the media decided to make of whatever answer they had to work with! That was the Professor Gates arrest incident.

That proved to me at the time that anytime there is a discussion about race in this country, Barack Obama always loses, no matter the circumstances.

The New Black Panther Party has like as many members as I have fingers and toes, and yet, like the Tearacists, Fox and CNN gave them much attention. Why?

Now, in reference to Ms. Sherrod, if she'd stayed in her position, I would bet that the media would NOT have reported the rest of the video tape that clearly shows that she was talking about an incident that occurred years ago (they would have made it the new "The Wise Latina" schtick!)....and they would have linked this directly to Pres. Obama "favoring" Black folks....as that is the new Fox/CNN Meme.

If she was fired (as she was), than the rest of the video tape would be shown, then linked directly to Barack Obama, to say that he acted in haste; what is he scared of? Even if he didn't have a fucking inkling about some woman in Georgia....cause he's got other shit to do, you know! He has a government under him for a fucking reason! He ain't micromanaging shit...and in particular that type of shit.

Anyways.....

The opposition will either always attempt to alienate White Voters from this President, or better yet, Black ones, or at least they will try; because what would be better than to try and peel Black support from Obama (in order to reduce his overall numbers with his most steadfast supporters)? Their goal is to keep ginging up the race issue, because they hope that we will all have "We have a Black President Fatigue" by the time 2012 rolls around. They are hoping that White Folks will want someone "Normal" instead, and that Black Folks will just keep their asses home and not vote due to just being disgusted (none of this will happen, but hey, as far as the opposition is concerned, why not try it; won't hurt anything (other than just people))!

I want to make this point of fact, cause I'm tired of the old cliche (made new again, but only applicable to This Administration!) "The buck stops here"....because it is being overused, overplayed and it is getting frigging ridiculous! - President Barack Obama is not directly responsible for every single damn thing that the government does! He is not king, and he does not preside over a perfect kingdom. Mistakes will always happen, cause they always have, and if the Left is gonna play that shit, than that makes us as stupid as those who spend their entire days looking to be able to find something that someone somewhere did wrong, and just simply blame Barack Obama directly for it. We shouldn't be playing their game.....just because they want us to.

End rant! :grr:

Yep, fuck the MSM....and give this fine lady back her job.

Excellent post Frenchie and right on point. It seems as if the media is hoping this country erupts in a full on race war! Where are the real freakin journalists? Who would allow some fucking blogger post to cause this much rage. Vilsack and his assistants needed to check the issue out instead of firing the woman.

Putting this on the president is ridiculous! You make an excellent point here:

If she was fired (as she was), than the rest of the video tape would be shown, then linked directly to Barack Obama, to say that he acted in haste; what is he scared of? Even if he didn't have a fucking inkling about some woman in Georgia....cause he's got shit to do, you know!

When was the government ever been perfect in everyway?

I understand your suggestion in resolving the issue....
but why is this an issue? Why are folks allowed to broadcast
whatever fucking tape they find, and why does the news media
consider it all to be so newsworthy?

Cause they want us at each other's throat and want to discredit this
President in whatever way they can.

They didn't dare take on other presidents for fear of being "unpatriotic" or any other reason they could find. This president has to deal with all the inherited bullshit, new bullshit, plus racist shit! At this point, there is no other way I can write it.

They want this administration to fail! If he continues to fix shit, they will go with the race angle. They cannot stand it!

11. Anything dealing with Blackness in all it's variation is a problem.
Because there is one thing definite about America. No matter how much advancement we have made, and this includes voting a Black man into office---nothing riles people up than race. Even here on a so-called progressive forum when race is discussed drama bloody erupts. Jews (admittedly only in the US it's seen as a race) enter a camp, Blacks enter a camp, Whites enter a camp and so forth.

People are always demanding everyone to speak honestly about race but it's an issue. And when you have a demographic of 66% (roughly) White in the US (this is not to say there aren't racist---or Blacks who have issues with their own or other races who have issues against Blacks) and with that demographic around maybe 5% more or less, who are Teabaggers or Repubs or Dems or whatever who have issues on Blacks. Even people on the fence with Obama could see him hiring "Black racists" further feeding media frenzy and sensationalism.

Because what is this all about, for the media at least? Ratings, which means more money for them and when their Repub donors supporting them or whatever. And nothing is easier to push than "the other" saying something that can be seen as "reverse racism". Especially since Rev. Wright.

better than anyone else, what the media is capable of and KNOW that lies and distortions are constantly being tweeted and blogged over the www. Like Mark Whittaker said, "racism" stories are like cat nip to the media and they're all over it whether it be right, wrong or indifferent. In their rush to judgement, which is SO unlike POTUS (he supposedly supported it), this woman lost her livelihood and if the confidence they had in her is THAT damned tenuous, I don't blame her for not wanting it back but I'd damned sure sue a whole slew of folks.

You are absolutely right!

The only time the media seems to want to discuss race is when they have an opportunity play it up as a fight. What's even worse is their repeated mischaracterization of comments in order to fake a "he said-she said" controversy that doesn't exist. The latest example is the NAACP incident in which Ben Jealous very reasonably called on the Tea Party to call out the racist elements in their midst.

Jealous never once accused the Tea Party of being racist, yet how many times in the last week did the media claim he did? How many times did they frame the debate within a "Is the Tea Party racist" context?

One of the things I found almost amusing was how often they asked this question of various people, who responded that they did not believe the Tea Party itself was racist but that it had racist factions within. It would have been very simple to then simply report that the interviewee agreed with Ben Jealous. But of course they didn't. They consistently claimed that the person disagreed with Jealous.

Perfect example - Joe Biden:

Biden: Tea Party Not a Racist Movement

The tea party is not a racist group, says Vice President Joe Biden, though he believes that some of those involved in the movement have expressed racist views.

"Very conservative, very different views on government and a whole lot of things," Biden said during an interview broadcast Sunday on ABC's "This Week." "But it is not a racist organization."

President Barack Obama doesn't think so, either, Biden said.

Excuse me?

Of course, the purpose and result of this intentional twisting of the story is that it allows Tea Partiers and Republicans to ignore the real issue that Jealous raised - the existence of racist elements within the Tea Party - and instead jump up and down yelling, "STOP CALLING US RACISTS!!!" And after a few minutes of this foolishness, they then move on to the next made-up "controversy."

OK, THIS IS IMPORTANT. CAN YOU, FRENCHICAT< RUN FOR A LOCAL OFFICE WHERE YOU LIVE? I BET EVERYBODY ON DU AND...in your area would support you.

You're not an old geezer like me, too tired and sick. We all know what you're like and what you stand for.

We all know you support and stand for progreesive and patriotic (don't fear the word) ideals. You are trustworthy.

I would work hard to spread the word about what you stand for and what it would mean to get you elected to any local office.

Posting here is well and good. But if you were an elected rep in state or fed government I'd sleep easier.

People, what do you think?

19. The Black Panther news, and Sherrod story will diminish the legislative...
victory of unemployment extension. In case anyone didn't know, it's all by design. Did anyone happen to notice how last week's Financial Reform victory, and the capping of the BP well was met with endless speculation of who should primary our sitting president?

Sadly, these diversions aren't all coming from the right. Several threads popped up immediately after the Sherrod controversy, calling the President a coward, for something he probably didn't even know about. I mean, it's not like this woman was Sec of State or anything, so why would the president be involved in her firing/resignation? Anytime the Dems get something to celebrate, you can bet your a**, there'll be some made up controversy to divert our attention.

Don't you think?

That proved to me at the time that anytime there is a discussion about race in this country, Barack Obama always loses, no matter the circumstances.

How about when Obama actually stood up for himself and gave that incredible speech on race during the primaries? That speech alone probably won him the nomination.

The reason Obama loses is that he doesn't fight. Firing Sherrod was an unconscionable capitulation to that racist Breitbart. Now a good woman is out of a job and the President -- once again -- looks weak.

in the hiring/firing of every government employee? This case is an exception, but you've already concluded that the president was directly involved in this woman's resignation. From what I've read, Vilsack was her boss. There are literally hundreds of thousands of government employees. Should the president be directly involved in the oversight of every one of them? Because that's exactly what it sounds like you're implying.

50. Excellent Rant, K&R
"Now, in reference to Ms.

He ain't micromanaging shit...and in particular that type of shit."

Spot on, that's happening here too!

52. Fact:
The GoP can not count on a meaningful number of votes from minorities. All they can do is attempt to alienate independent voters from President Obama. Often these voters are indeed white. The GoP desperately needs them.

I'd agree it does get tiresome listening to some dog President Obama. The guy is running a fucking nation that has a lot of serious issues. He's not a Pizza Hut manager. He also desires to be perceived as representing or "working for" all of us.

that's why I'm tired of the overuse of "The Buck stops here"....as it is being used
by this Administration's habitual distractors who want to simply blame and holler....
Problem is, this administration doesn't get credit for good work, which gets discounted instead.

59. To my very soul I am tired of it.. the double standard never ends.. ever ever
My biggest fear is this Frenchie.. the constant push to keep the pot stirred, will so inflame low information voters everywhere, that they end up voting for the very thing that will steal their liberties won.. and keep chipping away at everything we cherish and are trying to do.

Then when they get then next Bushie or Palin in office, they will do exactly what they did with the last Bush, feel so chagrined at the never ending harangue that they the media perpetuated.. and step back and we will be toast as a country as the right rides the final roughshod over us.

60. I see the opposite too
It's really depressing that the race card is pulled by the media every chance it has, but they need to be exposed. It isn't Obama who is causing it. The teabaggers have brought racism out from under the putrid rock they've been keeping it under and it's ugly. They've gotten away with it for while as the media treats the teabaggers like they're legitimate spokespeople for this country.

If we don't talk about it and condemn it as citizens we're enabling it. Obama is just a catalyst. We have to deal with this as citizens. I'm glad to take it on. The days of letting people get away with this racist shit are over. I feel the same way against any discrimination.

It's not a welcomed subject but it's good that it's out there for all of us to see and do something about. Enough of allowing it as long as it's kept under a rock.

62. Don't Worry Frenchie, Obama's Doubters and Critics Will Fail. They Always Do.
Edited on Wed Jul-21-10 08:50 AM by Yavin4
I've learned one thing from Obama, slow and steady wins the race. The man is a model of patience and persistence. He wins in the end even though everyone else predicts doom and gloom.

Think back to all of the things that were supposed to destroy him:

Hillary's relentless primary campaign of 2008

The Health Care Reform bill

The Christmas potential terror bomber

The Times Square potential terror bomber

Scott Brown's election

The BP Oil Leak

Now, it's the Sherrod matter.

Every other week or month, there's some major event or crisis that will bring down Obama, and time and time again, the man straightens himself up and carries himself to victory on each thing.

I truly admire him as a person and as a leader. When I grow up, I want to be like him.

63. This is a constant game of "gotcha" by the media. We all know it.
It doesn't matter what the issue is about....but race seems to be the one that the media hones in on the most. Whatever Obama does, he is screwed by the media for it. Then we as Dems get mad at the President. He obviously made a mistake. I hope he will correct it today. However, our real anger should be directed at the so called media. Like this passes for journalism. Not only that, but real issues are never talked about. The discussion of how extending the benefits for the unemployed will effect them? I heard nothing about it yesterday. This must be why the media on tv is slowly dying. There are barely any viewers to begin with. Beck gets 2 1/2 million viewers a night. That is supposed to impress me?

71. The racists really made a mistake with their deliberate misinterpretation
of Ms. Sherrod's statements. I do not understand how any person with ears to hear could have understood Shirley Sherrod to utter a racist word.

I that Fox and Breitbart intentionally, on purpose, "misunderstood" what she said. And I think this time they have met their Waterloo.

Breitbart claims to be attacking big government, but the attacks that get him the most press are either against Spanish-speaking Americans or African-Americans. Ms. Sherrod overcame racism in her life. We should all learn from her.

75. You must be a very patient person.
I am 50, and I can not remember a time when the MSM did not drive me to distraction with their distorted picture of race in America. Divide and Conquer has been the strategy of those who hate democracy as far back as the American Revolution. That is why the Founders said "We must all hang together or we will hang separately."
