International Gay Rights Group, Opposed By GOPers, Wins UN Status: link here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x8776830

This does include the President and I felt it deserved to be placed here too. It's great news and I'm excited by it. Step by Step we're getting there. This nation really needs to open it's mind and eyes.

We talked about it being pitched by the US in one thread: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=433&topic_id=378822&mesg_id=378822

But the first thread talks about passing. I love that there's successful progress being made. Obama and so many Good Dems are faced with a huge trial from the opposite party and their own. And we're seeing some things done. Don't get me wrong, some of them are slow going, other's not 100% up to par (but what is) but there is change from what I can see and mainly in the three things I cared for most---I had many issues but I am seeing some things differently.

My top three are:
1. Health-care
2. LGBT rights and community
3. The war

Some changes I love and didn't realize were going to be changed:
1. Lilly Ledbetter
2. Department for Urban development
3. Student loan reformation.

2. Totally. Did you see the new post on the Admin talking to the Taliban?!
I think most people who read that saw it as a sign that O wants to get out of this war in Afghanistan at the earliest possibility.

5. Thx. It makes sense to me to talk with them.
Nothing is accomplished by refusing to listen. Good news for sure.
