Ten things I wish the Democrats would say
1. Taxes are simply an economic tool and right now we need the wealthy to do their patriotic duty and help pay down the deficit.
2. If we can pay off the deficits of Bush and Reagan, we can manage the deficits that were needed to keep the economy running.
3. The wealthy, intentionally or not, made illicit gains thanks to the abuses of Wall Street and there is no choice but to ask them to pay some of it back.
4. Health care reform and climate legislation will lead to the same types of economic excitement and growth that the internet led to.
5. If people don't have money to meet their basic needs, crime will go up, small businesses will shut down, property values will drop, and taxpayers will end up paying for more police and prisons.
6. In the worst case, climate legislation will lead to cleaner air and new energy alternatives.
7. We will be leaving Afghanistan in 2011, once we have done enough to ensure that our allies there are not sitting ducks.
8. The dollar has gotten strong under Obama. It is now cheaper to go to Europe for instance than it was under Bush.
9. We need to bring manufacturing jobs back to the United States.
10. Immigration reform is a lot cheaper and more practical than trying to remove 12,000,000 illegals.

4. I'd say that's an understatement. There's no reason why these repukes
couldn't have been squashed after '08. Now they're actually looking like an alternative..... to the terminally stupid but still.
