1. Not necessarily.

In my state the current front runner for office of Governor is a Republican,Hispanic women. She is running against an Democratic, Anglo women. Most of Hispanic folks in my area and there is a very large population of them here, support the Repb. even though she will attempt to pass an AZ style law and stop issuing driver's licenses to illegals. Further east of here the sentiments may run the other way.

If you live around a lot of Hispanics you soon find out that they do not necessarily form a monolithic voting block, particularly those whose families have been in this country for many years, sometimes a few centuries even.

2. It's my understanding that..
.. HIspanics for the most part are very socially conservative yet tend
to be economically liberal.

This kind of push/tug mentality is a hard line to read politically.

3. That is my take of it also

however, some of the older Spanish Land Grant Families (read landed and moderately wealthy) seem to be solidly conservative, but one must be careful in making such generalizations.

Regardless,in this part of the state most Hispanic citizens do not think highly of illegal immigration and tend to look down on them somewhat.
