Kerry "In times of economic trouble, our country expects Democrats and Republicans to pull together"
Via Ezra Klein

John Kerry: “This is one of the worst moments I’ve seen in 25 years in the United States Senate. In times of economic trouble, our country expects Democrats and Republicans to pull together and do the basics. Now, after eight weeks of debate and after every effort to make changes and find common ground, the Minority Leader has again found a way to unify his caucus to block legislation that extends unemployment benefits, creates jobs and provides hundreds of millions of dollars in desperately needed assistance for states...The Senate has to do better than this."

1. Ever since Ike went out of office
the republicans have never ever worked for the benefit of the people of this country. All they do is try to get bills killed that benefit the people of this country and make laws that benefit the corporations. Look at the crooks Bush and the republicans appointed to the Supreme Court. The one place in America that is supposed to be for the people. In the last years since Bush appointed to the two butts, Roberts and Alito just how many bills have been passed that benefit the public as compared to those passed that benefit big business.

2. Dear senator, could you make sure that we can recruit a strong Senate candidate
for 2012 to run against the idiot who is now our junior senator, and who still thinks the tax extender was a bad thing.

3. I hope that someone will interview the Junior Senator on his vote here
- on video.

The few comments I read of his are extremely lacking in thought and compassion. His comment on the money to the state that the money was intended for just one year ignores that it actually was promised. There is no good, caring reason to give for not extending unemployment when the unemployment rate is at the level it is. He also can't go to his usual mumble about being for jobs - as he voted against them.

4. Talking about out of touch.
In times of economic trouble, I expect Republicans to use the event to destroy government.
