I don't recall Chris Matthews demanding to know what the lines of authority were in the Bush Admin.
Why this sudden obsession now with the details of Command and Control? He started this harangue a few weeks ago regarding the Gulf spill. Now he's rabidly accusing the Obama Administration of having no clear lines of authority in regard to Afghanistan and insisting that "the American people want to know" distinctly who is calling the shots. He's like a dog with a bone.

Where did this come from?

Once that is established, you'll have your answer.

3. He competes with Glen Beck in the 5 pm (ET) slot and I think that's
why he's getting more and more over the top. He's trying to create controversy in hopes of attracting some of Beck's audience.

7. Yeah, he does that too. I see him more as an entertainer, he doesn't
really do anything investigative. It's all about his feelings and his gut reactions to whatever is going on.

6. I was just coming here to post - omg - I just got home, turned on the tv and there he is
PLACING THE BLAME ON OBAMA. He just gave some guy the Whitehouse phone number for crying out loud!

I watched him do this to John Kerry with the swiftboat liars - and now he is doing this to Obama. He is asking the questions in such a way to move the blame from BP to Obama. And he's getting all tingly about it.

What can we do about this? Anyone????

12. BP wasn't even mentioned in his harangue.
Edited on Thu Jun-24-10 05:19 PM by senseandsensibility
He is part of the corporate propaganda to erase BP from the coverage completely. Edited to add that in his "final thoughts" at the end of his program he did hit BP pretty hard. So he's all over the map as usual.

13. He was sometimes the best (other than O'Donnell) with the SBVT
He really called them on their lies when they lied on something where the truth was in the record. The problem was that he gave them way too much time after they were caught in several lies. Not to mention, he used Ginsberg as a talking head, after it was found he was a lawyer for both Bush/Cheney and the SBVT. (That was beyond weird as it should have completely discredited him.)

16. The problem I had with him Karyn was that he talked about them all the time.
Nonstop free commercial for them. Yes he rebutted what they said, but it was after he played their commercials.

I just felt like he made them the issue. He made them matter. Similar to what they now do with Palin. If they would stop covering her, she wouldn't matter.

All I know is how upset I would get with him when he would devote the majority of his program to those liars....no matter how the commentary was that followed.

18. I agree on that - he gave the issue enormous time
My point was that at least he disputed the claims - most talking heads didn't.

14. He has been stuck on this for weeks now. I can't stomach him
anymore and I use to watch his show daily. Anything to belittle or weaken this president. They can't stand seeing him in charge so they create little scenario's to pretend that he's not. He played a clip yesterday and then said the president sounded like a principal in a tough inner city school or some such craziness. WTF?

and when I don't watch, I don't even know what he is saying....and that's a better choice,
for me.
