5. Point.
You're right, but below 40 votes they're all irrelevant.

8. First 5 are so easy I didn't even have to consult the list . . .
Edited on Fri Jun-18-10 09:37 PM by Phx_Dem
Nelson, Baucus, Lincoln, LANDRIEU, and LIEBERHOLE. I'm open to the 6th, but if I had to replace any of them with Republicans, I woldn't. And that includes "moderates" (choke) Snow and Collins.

The worst Dem is better than the best Republican.

10. Bennett Co he always votes the wrong way, along with
Warner, who has got to have republican leanings, Nelson I hated him for the Health Care mess he made, Lincoln don't have to say we all know, Landrieu wishy washy and Bayh In a disappointment.

Republicans Inhofe OK a real real ahole as well as McConnell.

16. Looks like Britain, Canada, Israel, and others do quite well with a Parliamentary system
Our political system is broken down and beyond repair. Time to bury it and do the 21st century version of 1776.

19. Divided government (congress and the white house being of different parties)
Is no less chaotic and difficult to govern under than coalition governments. In fact it's arguably worse because there are only two parties governing which means they are almost always playing a zero sum game against each other.

26. You would need a ConCon for that
That's the only thing in the Constitution that can't take place even with a Constitutional Amendment.

14. Replace the Congress with a Parliament with proportional representation
The President will be a figurehead who, as in other countries, is an elder statesperson that represents national unity. The Prime Minister will be the chief executive.

17. I'd prefer a mixed Presidential/Parliamentary system like France has
Honestly if the opposition party has an overwhelming majority in congress the Speaker of the House kind of becomes the de facto prime minister in this country anyway.

Not optimistic about it happening in the forseeable future, but structural reforms are up there on my wishlist.

I selected based on places I think progressive Democrats could be re-elected.

I thought about Carper, but not for the same reason. You're right, and Grassley is long overdue a defeat.
