Empty anti Obama talking point, "Obama did not ask for help on the oil spill."
Palin, Newt, Ben Stein, and many others are using the talking point that Obama did
not ask for help from other counties in dealing w/ the oil spill. It matters little that
this is a bald faced lie and that Obama started working on the oil spill from day one
because "they" want to hurt Obama and don't give a damn about the Gulf or the people
hurt by this spill.

Remember after Katrina it was the "State and Locals" fault and all the other countries
thought Iraq really had WMDs because even though we are the majority the media
is in large part run to help the right and the corporations.

Rinse and repeat "Obama should have asked for help from other countries."

2. That was because of the great reporting done by the liberal media who never bothered to fact check
right wing crap, they just repeated it. Liberal media my ass.

4. I saw 15 seconds of Newt spreading this lie on Fox.
The talking point has gone out and at first the right wing blogs and media (fox / rush / Joe S)
spread the lie and then it gets picked up by the main stream media.

BTW we do have both Dutch and Norwegian help on the oil spill.

5. Yeah I knew that we had help on the way when the wing nut talking point started
from Norway and the Dutch. Thus my comment on the fact checking the media did before running the talking point.

6. But many of us were happy to swallow it. We should have been much more skeptical.

The claim made no sense. If it makes no sense, and it is the OPPOSITE of Obama's self-interest, I look at claims like that with a very skeptical eye.

9. Katrina was the fault of the local officials.
One of the forensic scientists (who also worked on flight 93) was my professor for a semester and maintains that to this day. FEMA must be asked by the city/state in order to help. (Not to mention when he tried to enter the city w/ the military, they were shot at and had to leave because the military can't shoot american civvies) Just like the Jones Act MUST be suspended by the president in order to allow foreign ships on them to help.
