Why Boehner will NEVER take impeachment off the table
If Boehner did what Nancy Pelosi did and took impeachment of Obama off the table, he would never be Speaker of the House if the GOP retook the House.

G U A R A N T E E D!

The lunatic base simply would not allow that to happen.

1. But we took it off for political expediency even when history and humanity
and morality and the Rule of Law SCREAMED for it.

2. Yep

So if the GOP retakes the House, Barack Obama WILL BE IMPEACHED. It is a foregone conclusion. The only way for the GOP to placate their lunatic fringe base will be to throw EVERYTHING ELSE under the bus and concentrate all legislative activities on insuring that Barack Obama is impeached.

They won't care if he's convicted in the Senate. All that matters is they can say "Barack Oabama, disgraced impeached president".

3. I'm sorry to say that will please some people.
And then they will wonder what went wrong.

4. This just emphasizes what HYPOCRITES the Republicans are.
They merrily skip down the Primrose Path hand in hand with Bush and Cheney, approving anything and everything they asked for, without so much as batting an eye. But you put a black man in office, and that's worthy of impeachment.

Clinton + Democrat + blow job = IMPEACHMENT

Obama + Democrat + black man = IMPEACHMENT

Bush + Republican + lying to start wars = OK

Bush + Republican + spying on Americans = OK

Bush + Republican + outing COVERT CIA agent during time of war = OK

Bush + Republican + historical deficit spending = OK

Bush + Republican + Energy Policy that resulted in record high gas prices = OK

Bush + Republican + lack of oversight allowing Wall Street/banking collapse = OK

Bush + Republican + cronyism = OK

Bush + Republican + whatever = OK

Obama + Democrat + whatever = IMPEACHMENT

GOP = H Y P O C R I S Y

7. That doesn't matter.
Sestak, Ramano, Blagojevich, Rezkom the phony birth certificate bullshit, it doesn't matter.

They WILL IMPEACH.

Impeachment is a purely political process and this is how these fucks play politics.

8. Well, the only way to counteract that
Edited on Tue Jun-15-10 11:44 AM by Voltaire
is to be just as nasty as the enemy and then some. We may not always agree with Obama, I sure don't, not always. But we need to make damned sure that they don't attack this man they way they did Clinton with no pushing back. They send one of ours to the hospital, we send one of theirs to the morgue, that's the Chicago way.

9. I doubt impeaching would get the public on their side.
It backfired on them with Clinton. People don't for the most part want political games, they want real solutions to their everyday problems. Besides, the Rethugs would still have to deal with Biden (just like they would have had to deal with Gore) if it actually happened.

10. They don't care.
They'll impeach for no other reason than to put a stain on the first non-white president in history.

11. "Everywhere I go, people ask me, 'Michele, can we impeach the president?' "
Oldest trick in the sleazy politician's book - promote a position as something "everyone is asking me about." Unlikely that anyone except a teabagger or two asked her that question. She just wants to generate talk about it to make it acceptable - or to be able to quickly distance herself if it backfires.
