Obama takes heat from Democrats over jobs
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/

From CNN National Political Correspondent Jessica Yellin
Rep. Bobby Rush, co-chair of the new Congressional 'Jobs Now Caucus'.
Rep. Bobby Rush, co-chair of the new Congressional 'Jobs Now Caucus'.

(CNN) – Members of President Obama's own political party are charging that the White House and the Democratic Congressional leadership are not doing enough to help the unemployed and are threatening to organize a march on Washington of jobless Americans.

"Obviously there's something that's not getting through to them," said Rep. Bobby Rush, D-Illinois. "And we're going to let the White House and everybody who's concerned know that we have got people in our districts who are depending on us to deliver for them."

Rush and Reps. Marcy Kaptur, D-Ohio, and Candice Miller, R-Michigan, chair the new Congressional "Jobs Now Caucus," which is comprised of 112 Democrats and 17 Republicans.

Rush and Kaptur argue that a new jobs program is more important than health care reform, but stop short of threatening to hold up a vote on one of Obama's most important domestic policy initiatives.

I hope this gets someones attention. Jobs are the key to any sort of recovery and I do not mean government jobs.

6.  We can not continue to grow the government
Government jobs are indeed necessary, however these jobs require tax money to pay the wages. What we need is jobs that
provide not only a good income but produce a product which generates not only profit but also returns tax to run the government

9. Guess you are proof of how Reagan really polluted people's minds.
I'd love to see the US Park Service double their employment.

13. Good question...
In my field, most of the decent jobs are in government. They are nearly impossible to get.

on jobs.

7. I officially don't get it.
A march on Washington is fine (I assume the arrange transportation for the jobless)
I love complaining as much as the next guy but Congress legislates. They don't have to wait for anyone to get started, develop good ideas, write a great bill. Push that
Charging that the White House and the Democratic Congressional leadership are not doing enough would make sense for us to do but not so impressive from Congress.
If they had a good bill or great ideas developed and they couldn't get attention from leaders...charge them with that. Be loud about that and your bill/ideas.
But they aren't doing anything either besides complaining....Congress legislates.

Am I missing something?

8. Ok, so the next time the President asks for a stimulus bill, pass one that creates more jobs, idiots
The hell with protesting the White House. President Obama will sign anything helpful they manage to hand over to him. Get your own frickin' house in order, pun completely intended.

10. K&R.
It's been my message for months.

It's actually too late now for any serious new job creation to save Democrats in less than 11 months.

New job creation should have been the first thing Obama set out to do. It's too late.

We will be massacred in November at the polls.

Your OP is right on the mark.

Blue Dogs are kvetching. Party unity is a joke. It's a wonder he can get anything done.

14. What's the matter with them?
Can't Congress put up legislation on their own, without needing orders or encouragement from the President?
