It seems like us wanting our principles to turn into policies is a problem
for some "unnamed" sources in the White House.

but I don't see how keeping quiet about it is going to make those things happen any quicker.

and I don't see how anybody with a brain thinks in 2010 that anybody can or should be quiet about what they want.

1. Looks to me as if there is some question as to what "our principles" actually are...
Not sure progressives and DLC/New Dems share the same principles.

2. I hate unnamed, off the record, anonymous official stories.
Loose lips sink ships.

Man, all of my posts are really negative today.

5. I think the difference between "dems" and "old dems" is largely tactical
New Dems think change only occurs when we get to govern and thus change is inherently incremental.

Old Dems think that the Principle overshadow all other consideration and if we can't have our cake now. there is little point.

Old Dems would rather protest then govern....New Dems would rather govern than be oppositional.

7. Old dems got a lot of sh*t done
Not quite comfortable with the apparent dismissal of them.

9. Probably the only thing I hate more than anonymous sources...
is labeling and putting people in a box based on their ideas.

I think that this only helps discredit people as a group, rather than talking about the merits of an idea.

4. I don't know why people think he's a "fixer"
more like a bull in a china shop (yeah, I know that myth's been busted but...)

10. Your principles are tough in a democracy where others disagree with you

even Arkansans voted for their own representative instead of listening to any one member of DU.

12. What? People disagree with me?
They must either be ignorant, stubborn or mentally deficient.

:sarcasm:

11. Hey look, Politico sliming the White House with "unnamed sources".
I don't believe for a second that anyone with any brains in the top echelons of power in the White House would be stupid enough to say this, even if they did believe it. Politico is reaching.
