POTUS to NBC's Lauer: Gathering enough info so he knows "whose ass to kick" (VIDEO)
Edited on Mon Jun-07-10 05:57 PM by jefferson_dem
Full POTUS quote: "I was down there a month ago, before most of these talkin' heads were even paying attention to the gulf. A month ago...I was meeting with fishermen down there, standin' in the rain talking about what a potential crisis this could be. and I don't sit around just talking to experts because this is a college seminare, we talk to these folks because they potentially...have the best answers, so I know whose ass to kick."// It was an animated Pres. Obama.

2. And I'm sure now those calling for some emotion will bitch that this seems staged.
Because they bitch no matter what. They're serial bitchers.

4. oh definitely
I saw talking heads on both msnbc and cnn today complaining now that Obama is focusing too much time on the gulf, and not enough on JOBS and the economy...and last week, Chuck Todd was complaining that Obama's speech on the economy seemed "out of place", because people are worrying about the gulf! Also, Morning Joe has decided that now that Obama has gone down there enough times, he just isn't "good enough at backslapping people" and looks uncomfortable, and needs to "make a speech". Ugh.

3. That's it, keep that attitude.
And don't listen when they call you 'uppity'. I love that phrase.

14. Yup. When, last week, Obama said he'll be there for the people in the Gulf after the media is gone,
Edited on Mon Jun-07-10 06:28 PM by jenmito
Chris Matthews said, "What is he TALKING about? We (the media) were there BEFORE he was down there and we'll continue to cover it every day. This isn't going away." That's a paraphrase, but he was angry. :eyes:

18. THAT is the REAL zinger IMO.
I like that WAY better than the ass kicking line.

The ass kicking line sounds forced .... that one, on the other hand, is the honest truth.

Now, perhaps he should have said. "I was down there a month ago, before most of these a** hole talking heads were even paying attention to the gulf. " .... THAT would have been PERFECT! lol

19. He shouldn't have given in to the media cries for emotion
It detracts from the cool steady competent demeanour that won him the election in 2008. They set a trap for him. He fell into it. He needs to go back to handling this the way that he was before the interview.

20. I'll agree with that, he should have just kicked ass and said nothing
but it's much easier to say it than to actually do it.

If he doesn't kick someones ass soon, he will be weak.

I just hope he doesn't kick the liberals ass anymore and he starts to kick some repug ass.
