Does anyone not think Kagan is going to be seated?
Edited on Mon Jun-07-10 01:47 PM by Perky
The GOP has nothing on her.... apparently....Which may be a "kinda sorta" bad thing for those wanting a progressive on the bench....but looks like this one is pretty much a non-fight.

1. Yep. The Repubs will get their Souter, and the corporate court will move right.
They own the game now, we're all serfs. Nobody really seems to care outside of a few political junkies, so this is just how it is.

4. and exactly how do you know that Kagan will move the court to the right?
Please cite to specific rulings where her vote might be different than Stevens. You obviously have studied this closely.

6. yes i have and I don't see anything in them to suggest that she would depart
from Stevens' position on any issue that has come or is like to com before the court. Please show me where I'm wrong.

2. People aren't paying attention to it
Too many other things going on. Any anti-Kagan movement will not get off the ground.

14. Kagan will get between 70 and 75 votes.
So far no one in the Senate has even tried to lead a charge against her.
