That is the charge being leveled at Governor Charlie Crist by his chief rivals for a U.S. Senate seat. They are focusing on his position involving the Pentagon's "don't ask, don't tell" policy.
Miami Democratic Congressman Kendrick Meek has long supported a repeal effort. He said, "The military is built on honor, integrity and truth. If we have a serviceman or woman tell a lie about their orientation it smacks against what they are trained to do."
Meek is also taking aim at rival and newly independent Senate candidate Charlie Crist. On Monday, the governor told reporters the "don't ask, don't tell policy" "has worked pretty well for America." Then, on Thursday, Crist said he supported its repeal.
Meek calls Crist a flip-flopper. He said, "People want to know where all the candidates stand on the issues. That has been a problem for Charlie Crist in the past. That has not been a problem for me. The same thing happened on offshore oil drilling. He was for expansion and now he is against it because we have oil in the Gulf."
