WH Statement on Israeli Attack of Gaza Aid Convoy
Edited on Mon May-31-10 07:29 AM by Clio the Leo
It's going to be interesting to compare the admin's response of the obvious, admitted to, attack by Israel on the Gaza humanitrian aid flotilla to the not quite as obvious attack by North Korea on the South Korean ship.

'TRAGEDY' -- Deputy White House press secretary Bill Burton issued the following statement on the Israeli attack on a convoy of ships carrying aid to the Gaza Strip that killed at least 10 people:

"The United States deeply regrets the loss of life and injuries sustained, and is currently working to understand the circumstances surrounding this tragedy."

The incident comes just one day before Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is to meet with President Barack Obama in Washington.

Obama is also scheduled to meet with Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas on June 9.

2. Will this finally turn the public here in the United States against Bibi?
We still, as a country, support giving aid to Israel.

3. My first thought when I heard this... Bibi, is in the hip pockets of the Republicans
Would they actually do something like this for political hay in the United States?

I may need a break from DU, when that is the first thing that crosses my mind.
