Burr, building war chest, off to Duck

While the Democrats are fighting each other in the Senate primary runoff, Republican Sen. Richard Burr continues to build his political war chest.

Burr is planning an Outer Banks fundraiser this weekend at Duck, Rob Christensen reports.

The cost is $3,000 per political action committee or $1,500 per person, according to the Sunlight Foundation, which promotes greater transparency between lobbyist and lawmakers.

Burr has reported raising $8.4 million for his election, compared to $737,499 for Democrats Cal Cunningham and $514,541 for Elaine Marshall.
