Why do we kid ourselves? We live in a corporate.fascist state. Democrats, Republican's, are all working for the same people.

Why has there not been another anti war protest since Bush left office? We are going to be in Afghanistan until we are all old and grey.

It's true that we're up against a BIG UGLY FORCE that most of our "leaders" have bought into - but we can do a lot more to fight it.

4. The behavior of BP is a symptom...

...of what has happened in this country.

Politicians have accepted millions in campaign contributions from large corporations.
These large corporations buy influence, deregulation and the ability to ignore the
health and safety of people over profits. The corporations return the favor to
politicians with more campaign money--and probably more money and god-knows-what-else
that is exchanged under the table.

There is a party going on, and "We The People" are not invited. We are a pain in the
ass to them. We are the objects that they must lie to every election cycle--and
nothing more.

The tea party...don't get me started. What is the effect of the tea party? It divides
us. It keeps us hating each other. The tea party was concocted by the neocon corporatists and it
is strengthened and fueled daily by the right-wing radio/tv hacks that take their marching
orders from the neocon corporatists.

They need us divided. They need us so distracted and focusing on the shiny object (the
meaningless, pseudo cat fight between Dems and Reps) so they can continue to destroy
the economy, the environment, the Constitution, our freedoms, our civil rights and whats left
of our democracy.

We are screwed, because we are falling for their bullshit.

BP has all ready carved out their own reality. They get to make billions, and they've
previously paid tens of millions to their right politicians--to ensure that they aren't
regulated and that if a huge disaster happens--NOTHING will EVER happen to them. Believe me,
BP is being reassured right now, "We all know you guys are safe, but we have to do a little
grandstanding and act outraged. So just bear with us while we feign being angry at you. It
will all be over in a few weeks. In the meantime, don't forget that we're all meeting
for cocktails on K Street tomorrow, ok?"

This is reality. What are we going to do about it?

with the businesses they are SUPPOSED to keep in line.

They accept, or family members accept jobs lobbying for corporations they are SUPPOSED to keep in line.

They are simply employees of the corporate system that runs the world.

The truth is, whatever was the big corporate interest of the day has influenced and ruled us in may ways. Child labor, slavery, no regulations on food and drugs, no worker safety. We have managed through some more progressive people in the United States to give us some protections but corporate interests and the interests of the wealthy have always ruled the United States. It is just more blatant now. So, we have never had a perfect, better system in place.

However, we do affect things, even from the Internet....
which is why so many work so hard in undermining this President
and in an indirect way, assisting the opposition in regaining control.
