Thomas Mills, Elaine Marshall's chief strategist, has put out a post-primary memo that argues there is essentially no way she can lose the June 22 runoff against Cal Cunningham.
In the memo, Mills notes that Marshall has won 74 counties to Cunningham's 21 counties, and that she came in second in each of the 26 counties she did not carry, reports Rob Christensen. She also carried every region of the state.
"In a runoff election," Mills writes, "Cal Cunningham has no path to victory."
Of course the memo went out as Marshall attempts to persuade Democrats that they should donate money to her campaign and not to Cunningham's.
Cunningham called a runoff last week after finishing second, nine points behind Marshall in a six-candidate field.
