Pretty tired of the Crist speculation

the guy is a republican
always has been
always WILL be
he will caucus with the GOP
most likely if he wins he will go back to calling himself a republican
he is a total fuck-over for the dems
i keep reading stuff here about kendrick meek as opposed to crist
meek has a better voting record on issues
meek was working hard in 08 to bring the change
meek is a democrat
like in this forums name
DEMOCRATicunderground
most of what i read on here disqualifying meek and supporting crist
damn right i said it SUPPORTING CRIST
comes down to this

kendrick meek

charlie crist

ok ?
see the difference?
one is a hard working DEMOCRAT who supports the President and will work with him
the other is a self aggrandizing fuck weasel who would sell his mother for political advancement
i cant explain why crist is getting a pass here
but....

im sure when its properly explained to me it will be as simple as...
black and white?

1. Of course I support meek
and hope that meek will inherit win the office.

I can also hope that Crist gets more votes than the GOP candidate because Jebby supports the GOP person. I want the GOP to feel the pains of the dissent they spread.

2. I support Meek.
I would like to see Meek win. If he doesn't, a moderate Republican is better then a teabagger Republican. I think that is how most of us feel.

6. Is Crist moderate? Is there such a thing as a moderate Republican anymore?
Since I am old, I tend to think of people like Gerry Ford or Rockefeller as moderate. I doubt either could get into today's republican party.

10. Almost extinct. My Governor here in CT, Jodi Rell, is a perfect example of a moderate Republican.
Rethugs have forced most of them out. They either lost to Dems (like Chafee in RI) or are being kicked out like Crist.

3. What's with the weird racial stuff?
It's carefully crafted so there's no point pretending it isn't intentional.

11. I will be voting for Meek.
I have also noticed how eager a lot of Democrats are to support Crist. Makes no sense to me. If all the Democrats voted for Meek, he WOULD win. Splitting our own vote... confusing.

12. We should definitely support (and vote for) the Democratic candidate
Meek is a Democrat and will wholeheartedly support President Obama and the Democratic agenda. However, as "Republicans" go, Rubio would definitely far WORSE than Crist- who has actually been at least somewhat supportive of President Obama and isn't a total jerk. I don't expect Crist to caucus with the Democrats in the Senate if he wins but if he does win, we may at least get his vote on a few initiatives.

14. The Republican vote is split. It should be an easy Democratic win.
The campaigning on this board for Crist is bizarre. That he's better than Rubio is irrelevant. If Meek merely holds onto the core Democratic base then he will win. If Obama and Gore won Florida then Meek can get 40%.

The scary part is that polls typically under-represent black and low-income voters. That will be used as an excuse to build support for Crist. People could wake up the day after the election with Meek losing by 2% points and realize that they could have gotten a Democrat in office if they had ignored the polls and worked for Meek.

15. Meek can not win is the problem.
Crist is all done with the Republican's. They will not take him back. Meek is currently polling at 18% of the vote.

18. No. If Christ wins, the pukes will roll out a red carpet for him as he walks into their caucus room.
No way will the pukes turn down a chance to get one more vote in their caucus. Let them say what they want during the campaign, and yes they probably do prefer a Rubio win, but they are not that stupid. Crist and the pukes will kiss and make up.

27. Exactly
I'm seeing the photos already.

Crist will chat with Reid on the phone from time to time to keep the FL Dems happy but once he gets to DC all will be forgiven and he'll be back with the Repubs.

19. Meek would win if Democrats weren't tripping over themselves to get behind Crist
The only reason (supposedly) a candidate CAN'T win is because too few people vote for them. Florida has a ton of Democrats.

The problem is Florida Democrats love them some conservatives and/or faux moderation.

21. Crist is way ahead of both Rubio and Meek in polls from
www.pbpost.com. The "Post on Politics" is a good source. I have n doubt Meek is a grea guy but so far hardly anyone down here knows him. No way would Crist caucus with repubs, just wouldn't happen. If Meek is viable I will be happy to vote for him, but if not then Rubio wins. Cannot have that.

25. The FL M$M has been in full force support of Crist. They did the same thing for
McDonnell, portraying him as a moderate. The M$M never questions. Never investigates. Never hits harder. Thank God for Rachael. Ed Schultz needs to do a better job with investigating the political backgrounds of these politicians. Just because some talking head tells him that Crist is some moderate, Ed's response should be "by who's standard?".

26. Meek slipped from 24% to 18% when Crist jumped GOP ship.
Unfortunately it appears Democrats have jumped ship to follow Crist picking sides early on against Toomey. I like Meek and it's a damn shame he's fading, but he didn't stand a chance with the GOP primary getting all the ink.
