I cry for our president and our country tonight
I believe this must be a terrible night for the president. He knows he is sending our young men and women to risk their lives for us. He must be agonizing about the decision he has made and probably is going to second guess it forever, knowing people lost their lives due to his decision.

I cry for our country - that we are in these wars still today. Iraq should have never happened and we should have spent our time and efforts going after bin laden in the first place. If we had done that, we would have been finished a long time ago, saving many lives.

I am disheartened by democrats here on DU saying they won't vote in the next election. Some are asking others not to vote. I will never, ever be silent in an election. Being a woman, appreciating those that spoke out and were persecuted in the effort to get women the vote, I would never disrespect them by withholding my vote.

I fear where the other party will take us if our democrats don't vote. I don't see how we could survive under another republican rule.

5. I am with you, and the President, but I am sad about it.
I am never happy about war. It could have been over and done with a long time ago.
