Former Congressman Goode Joins the Constitution Party
Virgil Goode is a former U.S. Representative from Virginia who was defeated for re-election in 2008 by just a couple hundred votes. He has now officially joined the Constitution Party, increasing speculation that he might run for his old Congressional seat in 2010 or for President in 2012, though no sources have been able to confirm his interest in either race.

LANCASTER, PA: Virgil Goode, a 12 year Congressman from Virginia’s 5th district, attended the Constitution Party’s 2010 Spring National Committee meeting in Minneapolis where he was the keynote speaker at the Friday evening banquet. Goode applauded the resolution passed unanimously by the Party’s National Committee expressing support for Arizona’s recently enacted legislation cracking down on illegal immigration.

“I hope that the Republican National Committee and the Democratic National Committee follow the lead of the Constitution Party National Committee by adopting a resolution in strong support of the state of Arizona as they fight against the invasion by illegal aliens,” said Goode after the meeting.

Goode showed his solidarity with the Constitution Party by joining the party as a supporting member.

1. What are the various shades of right wing crazy these days?
Is constitution equivalent to 'tea-bag?' Where do libertarians fit?
I know that many elected democrats are right of Dick Nixon on many issues. That is so sad.

2. The Constitution Party is really right wing
The party's goal as stated in its own words is "to restore our government to its Constitutional limits and our law to its Biblical foundations." <1> The party puts a large focus on immigration, calling for stricter penalties towards illegal immigrants and a moratorium on legal immigration until all federal subsidies to immigrants are discontinued.<2> The party absorbed the American Independent Party, originally founded for George Wallace's 1968 presidential campaign.

3. They have a bit of libertarian to them as well
They oppose the wars and are against police state and the Patriot Act. Picture right-wing libertarians, like Ron Paul.

4. They are not social libertarians, however.
You won't find them supporting much in the way of social liberties.
